Default Question About E-Cutouts

I just bought Pacesetter LT's and ORY, and have an SLP LM1 catback. I want to get an electronic catback for this setup. What brands are there to choose from, how much do they run, and where is the best place to put the cutout?

Get a DMH cutout with the flow tech and install that sucker in the I-pipe. I just ordered mine. Cant wait to get it. it cost $199.

Basically on or just after the long part of the Y-pipe.

We sell the QTP cutouts. We have had good luck with them and have been running them for several years now. They run just under $200 for the stainless 3" cutout and electric valve. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Never seen that one before - would be nice to not have to weld anything but these aren't cheap!

I'll keep those QTP's in mind! Those bolt on ones are way too expensive haha. As for the double electronic cutouts, where do they go? One on each side of the y-pipe?

You won't be able to put it in the I-pipe since your LM1 resonator is there. You can put 2 on the y-pipe.

gotta be honest with u bro, with LM1 and an off road y pipe ur already as loud as ur gonna get and ur not gonna notice any power difference. Thier is litterally no resistance in ur setup already so no real gains in noise or anything. I know this cause i did the same thing with a previous camaro even though my buddy told me not too, and he was right, car didnt change its tone, and i felt absolutely no power gain. Now if u were running say off-road y-pipe and then a magnaflow catback with a muffler, or flowmaster or something like that, u would notice a big change in the noise, and maybe a slight power difference. The biggest gain is when u put a cut-out on the ultra resrtictive stock cat-back then open it up, huge power gains and way louder. Im tellin u man, save ur dough, thats an expensive venture with no return, and get a cam or maybe a true dual setup, thats where its at!!

Thanks for the advice! That definitely changes my decision haha. i was planning on throwing on a borla or magnaflow bullet muffler in place of the LM1 since its going to be raspy as ****. Idk if that makes much of a difference?

I have a Borla Xr-1 in place of the LM1 res. It sounds great. gyrene2003 is right about running cutouts with the lm1 system.

If u add a muffler that would change the dynamics some. I personnally like this option, used to be a LM1 to the grave kind of guy, but now she is all built up, so it would be nice to hear myself think when i want to, then flip the butterfly and be wide open just like that. If ya wanna cut-out, thats cool, just get somekind of muffler, so u will notice a difference. Especially if u ever plan on doin a cam one day. Ur gonna go nuts listening to an ORY with LM1 and a lopey *** cam all the time. U can have the best of both worlds just takes some research. Good luck

i have 140k miles, too old for a cam or any major engine work. I'll probably just pass on the cutout and get a a borla or magnaflow bullet muffler. Any opinions or which sounds better? lol

^ In that case do the Borla adjustable, then you will STILL have a place for a E-valve! ;-)

You're new to this huh? The Borla catback has a flange before the muffler that lets you insert different plates that changes how much exhaust goes thru the muffler and how much goes out unmuffled. Lol.

No, I am not new to this. I know Borla has a catback that is adjustable. I already have a catback however, and was looking to just buy a bullet muffler from borla. Thats when Liberty mentioned to get an adjustable borla. I figured he meant an adjustable borla, because otherwise he'd be saying spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a borla catback just for that adjustable feature, which i originally thought was unlikely haha. I should have mentioned my money situation is pretty nill as a college student
