FAST Intake on Speed Channel already!!! Anyone else catch Two guys garage tonight? Yep sure enough they featured an LS1 that they put a cam in and on top of it a 78mm FAST intake and TB!! They dyno'd it on an engine dyno and got 391FWHP at 6100rpm. Just thought it was crazy to see the FAST intake on there so soon after it was released to us. I guess working for speed has its perks cause I am sure they had that intake long ago to tape the show.
No mention of what cam they used but nice to see them actually do a modern domestic motor on there.

I saw it also. It looked like they got all the aftermarket parts from comp, cam, springs,lifters,pushrods, etc. What impressed me was they dyno'ed with what appeared to be stock manifolds, with cats, and the stock intake tract, including the airbox. So with headers and a freer flowing intake, the numbers should have been noticeably higher.
also, that was the first time I had seen an LS1 buildup that wasn't done in the car. Man changing springs and attaching all the junk on the intake sure looked like a breeze with the engine on a stand! I meanwhile, still have scars on my forearms!lol!

Yeah I saw it as well, I watch that show almost every Wednesday (used to watch it once in a while on weekends back in the 'Shadetree Mechanic' days 
) and was shocked to see them finally doing something serious with an LS1 on there and even more shocked that they had an LSX already!
Yeah the motor had stock manifolds/cats with stock lid as well so the results were quite impressive depending on what cam they used.

Just watched it... sounded like a mild cam, and completely stock tune.... the springs were Comp 918 blue stripes... also, consider 391bhp is like 340rwhp... but still fairly impressive for stock heads, and a very mild sounding cam.... like makes my old 20/220 .553/.553 113LSA cam sound big... but still... not bad. that 90MM TB looked huge.. I want one.. hope to see some good numbers out of those on big cube motors.... also, another thing to consider, most ls1's tend to make more power after some miles on them...

Verdad Gallardo Yes, I forgot to mention that they kept the stock PCM/tune in there as well.
Would the drivetrain loss be that much in this case, I was under the impression that 'water dyno' (engine dyno) they used was almost able to simulate what a chassis dyno would generate, not exact of course but I didn't think this was a straight 'engine dyno' type of test.

LOL man I tell you what dang ol' stock computer chip..put a high perfromance computer chip in there and that dang ol' 350 will run like a red headed step child! hahaha that guy was such a dumbass...but damn impressive numbers for sure with all stock hardware! longtubes,off-road,and a lid would have gained another 50 flywheel or so....that 90mm TB made me drool...
