Default how much to pay for 243 heads?

How much should I be paying for a set of raw LS6 heads?

Also...I know the sky is the limit but........How about much would it cost to get em ported and tricked alil?

I plan on camming my ls1, but not with anything radical!! I would like it to be streetable, but take it autocrossing once n awhile. Looking to make a bit over 400hp. Right now, I have full bolt ons and plan on rebuilding the ls1 in spring.....it has 135k on it!

browse the classified section. These pop up all the time on here. I would expect to pay ~$400-500 for the raw heads, another 300-1000 depending on the amount of work done on them.

Unported bare heads I wouldnt pay much over $150 or $200.

You can send your heads off to be CNCd by many people for probably $800-1000. It might just be better to buy new CNC heads from Texas Speed for $1100 ish.

If you are getting them ported anyway you are better off buying a set of ported heads in the classifieds

You can't get the port work done for less than you can buy ported heads on here ($600-1200) because you are going to be looking at $300 for heads and $500-1000 for porting.

*shrugs* I got my 799 with valves, locks, retainers for $250...and now know if I want to install heads I don't port myself I would have still been better off buying ported heads instead

true...but they arent the Z06 heads though. Difference is in the valve's. But Im not sure if that would make any difference or not.

To people who know a little it makes all the difference in the world. Light valves= good ($$$) Heavy valves = not as good($)
