Default Just Installed LS6 Intake and P+P TB

Hey guys, i just replaced my stock ls1 intake manifold and throttle body with an LS6 and P+P. What changes am i going to feel? More low-end or top-end power? Better throttle response? I wasn't able to tell cuz i had to drive it home in the rain, and its supposed to rain all week. Also, after the installation, my gas pedal feels different. When first applying the pressure, it feels like its a bit stuck or something, but then once i apply a bit more pressure it releases and works normal. Then i'd take my foot off the gas, then try again and it does the same thing. Any idea what this could be?

You probably won't notice anything at all which is normal. I could barely tell a difference when I did LS6 intake and long tube headers. As for the pedal getting stuck thing, probably your throttle body. When my brother P&P his TB after he said the pedal felt like it was getting stuck a little bit but after pushing the pedal in the first inch than it was fine. It was the butterfly plate in the TB sticking on the inner wall of the TB.

What I'd do is remove the throttle cable from the TB and move the TB lever back and forth and see if the TB feels like it is sticking at some point. If it is you can remove your TB and look in it and see what is going on.

^ Honestly, I didn't feel ANYTHING after my LT's, ORY, LS6 swap. I did all 3 the same weekend and I swear I still can't feel a difference, lol. My car trapped 109 though so I guess they did something. I hope I can feel it when I put a FTRA kit on and an U/D pulley. Oh, I still need a tune as well.

Nah, probably won't feel anything from the UD and FTRA either. Nice to know there is normal guys out there like me. Some people say they would "feel" their car pulling way harder after they installed their lid or put a ported throttle body on, sure... You can barely even tell with a 25hp gain let alone a 5hp gain.

You gained a little up top but you're not gonna feel it. The ls6 intake & ported TB probably gained you 10-15 rwhp which is respectable but won't make your car feel a whole ton faster. Basically it's enough to make a 13.2 car at the track a 13.1 car at the track.

I did headers, ported TB and a tune all at once. But my car was running very lean so I went from a 101 trapping car to a 109 trapping car. That was a night and day difference LOL!

I'd say a good size cam would get that job done. You could be looking at 400+ rwhp and I guarantee you'll notice that. Not to mention the new sound of the motor

I never felt much from the pacesetter lt install. I ported my own TB and installed the LS6 intake after that. It was, hands down, the best bolt I have ever done (unless swapping in a 416 is considered a bolt on...) This is an M6 car that had no tune on it at the time. There was a huge SOTP gain tho.

The sticking throttle you are experiencing is probably the throttle blade. I never had the issue with the one I did for the LS1, however I have on other TBs (TBIs - yes, I'm old). You can try two things to fix it. First pull the TB and loosen the to screws that hold the blade in place. Be careful, the porter may have used loctite on them. Once loosened, you may notice some play between the screws and blade. try positioning the blade and tightening the screws so the blade doesn't catch. If this doesnt work, you can pull the blade and lightly sand the areas that are catching.
If the blade isnt the problem, it is probably the way the shaft was reinstalled after porting. Its been years since I did mine, so I dont remember exactly, but its very touchy on reassembly. Maybe somebody else can chime in

I noticed a difference on in top end range, might of been the extra noise from the LT's lol. But the track times proved it for me, went from 12.9 to 12.4 with just the ls6 and LT's W/ory and the times don't lie.

I definitely noticed when I installed my FAST combo from ls1 intake. Comes alive hard over 4k rpm.

The tb should improve throttle response a lot, make it feel snappy when you drive.

I always said that the LS6 would be good enough for me but I want a FAST, lol. I just want a 92mm or even a 90.

Can't do cam do to 142k miles on engine haha. I'll let you know what I think of the difference when I drive it this weekend. As for the throttle body it's a stock ls1 ported polished with a the mods done such as half shaft and bump stop. Sounds like some good info on how to fix it, but is all that stuff difficult to do?
