I don't know exactly how far the SLP y pipe hangs down, but i do know it's more visable than the stock y from a side view.

Yes, you can see it from the side. To tuck it up tight
you will probably have to "dimple" a spot or two.
Expect additional effort on a convertible (to put it
mildly).

It does hang down a bit more than the factory flat one, but it's really not bad at all. My car isn't lowered yet, so I don't know how much that'll effect it.

OTOH, it's not as low as long tubes. It also is probably just as low as a set of subframe connectors.

Another thing... do you really want to spend the money on it? I don't think the gains are much if anything. I got mine because I bought it used from a friend.

I had the SLP catted Y running off SLP LT's. The driver's side part of the Y scraped every so often on speedbumps and street/sidewalk curbs.

SLP Y-pipe for stock manifolds gave me 3.25" ground clearance on the driver's side on my stock ride height car. Stock Y-pipe gives 4.25" clearance on the same side.

The Bassani Y pipe I have now (for the Bassani headers) gives the same 3.25" as the SLP did, but it looks lower because it swings out farther towards the edge of the driver's floor pan. Most header pacakge Y-pipes look a lot lower than the stock Y because they swing out farther. However many don't hang anymore than 1-1.5" lower than stock, making them only an issue if you plan to lower your car.
