Default Do i need a tune?!?!?!?!

After installing shorty headers and hi-flow cats do I need to get a tune or should everything be fine. Everything else is stock other than true duals.

I would get it tuned. It could actually end up hurting your gas mileage. Just get a mail order tune for now. I was told the headers will flow more and the o2's pick up on this and end up adding more fuel than was needed. If you do a tune, most of the gain will be seen from that since the shorties aren't known for huge gains.

I live 20 miles away from Tuned by Frost, so I will take it to him to get a tune cause I do NOT feel comfortable enoough to pull the PCM myself. So I will get a mail order tune just without having tro mail it LOL!!!

Depends with whom you talk with.

Whenever you change the air flow be it front of the motor, inside, or after the exhaust ports, the car SHOULD be retuned as there are gains to be had. The PCM does compensate to a degree but as evident in some cars including mine that once you go beyond a basic lid, to exhaust, the stock tune NEEDS adjusting.

I have a 2002, with a Lid (slp) it was fine, I installed LT headers, Dynatech SuperMAXX kit with cats and a Corsa Cat back and once the exhaust went on, I was too lean and KR and the car gained well once the corrections were made.

Most tend to think in terms of $$$ which is ok but there is a difference between SHOULD it be retune, answer is YES. Does it NEED to be retuned? Depends on the situation. In your case spend some $$ get a used LID and get at least a "Bolt on" Tune which will do a number of things and you will like the car better.

98 PCM's do not have the Adjustibility Parameters like 99+ cars so gains can vary.

I thought about getting an SLP lid and SLP smooth bellow. So I should wait til I do that and then get a tune?? Because that is probably the only other thing I'm going to do to the car.

I wouldn't reccomend the bellow.. it's essentially a $50 piece of tube you could get from Home Depot for $6 and cut yourself. And yeah, why not wait until you put the lid on. Doesn't make sense to get a tune and then change something.
