Default O2 sensors and LT's....

I'm installing LT's with hi-flow cats, my question is how do I go about installing the down stream O2 sensors?? The headers have the upstream connection for them but I will be removing the pipe with the downstream due to it being connected to the stock cat. Should I cut that pipe off and weld it in after the new cats and how long do the upstream O2 extentions need to be, 12" or 24" and for the downstream how long??? Thanks

If you have them tuned out then it will pass obd inspection. Hopefully you go somewhere that they will not do a visual though.

Alright, lets back this up a little bit. I have to understand what your doing. Your not installing an aftermarket y pipe with your headers? Sounds like your hacking up your stock y pipe to fit with your lt headers?
If you are then yea, you can extend the damn things if you want. But ill tell you your probly better off tuning them out anyway. Probly gonna throw codes. And no, rear o2s will not hurt performance. Your upstream will though.

Stock Y has been gone for years now. I have true duals from the stock cats back with an X pipe and 2 LM1's. I don't want to risk not passing an inspection. I plan on replacing the front O2's with Bosch 13111 O2's. Now, if I put the rear O2's in and still get them tuned out so that I will pass a visual would that work. I know my luck, with my mods they will look!!

well, I understand now. Those are the vette o2s right? (thats what im using just for the record)
Well its a tossup if you will pass a visual or not because technically long tube headers are not legal. Also if the location of the cats are not in stock location you could fail that too. It depends on how far they get into the inspection. Depends on where you go and whos doing it. You need to go somewhere where they dont give a ratts ***.

I have a place I can go and just get a sticker but, IF I actually want them to inspect it so I know I dont have anything broken underneath or wheel bearing wear etc, I would like to be able to do that. And you seriously cant have your cats anywhere BUT in the stock location!!! What kinda BS is that, as long as they are on there and FUNCTIONAL why does it matter WHERE they are!!! Holy crap, ok I'm a noob to this I guess, so I guess I don't know what I'm getting myself into!!! Now I have to decide if I even want to waste my money and time and risk it, or just not do ANY of it. Wow, never dreamed it would be this complicated!!

It is complicated. All the rules and regulations that car manufacturers have to follow when designing a car its nuts. One thing is for sure is we are all headed for times where we have to wonder, is it even worth it anymore to even own a race car. In a few years the government probly will not allow us to even own these cars.
I have to get my emissions done next year. I have lts ory and I still havent paid for a tune yet. Im probly just gonna get a tune, tune out the codes, and go somewhere they are not going to give a crap about a visual.
In a case of having to follow the rules to the T, I guess the best thing to do would be keep the stock exhaust, gut your cats, then maybe a turbo, tune, ect.
The odds are against us now-a-days for having this hobby. Gas prices, ethanol, emissions, and just the overall prices for EVERYTHING. This is why some of the older guys that have been doing it all their lives got out of it.
Its not like the 70s-80s any more and theres just to much BS to deal with. Everyones gonna be driving smartcars in a few years lol

I don't race this car. I'm not modding for power, just for sound. I only put like 4000 or 5000 miles a year on this car if that. This car is my baby.......... so confused on what to do........
