Nope I've given up...I grounded a huge chunk off the k member...put the back bolt in...the front bolts don't line up because it still hits and it looks like I'd have to take a lot more out the k member...which I'm not. I'm going to have to buy another set from them...and send these back and start from there.

So if I get different headers do you think that will solve my problem? I don't get why it's hitting...the motor mounts are new..could the header holes be off?

some headers just dont fit as well as others usually do to design or just a bad jig when they were welded together. If you get another set take my and everyone elses advice and get a set of bbk's if you dont wanna spend a lot of money. They look great and i havent seen anyone complain about fitment. When I put mine in they literally slipped right in and arent close to hitting any part of the k member

you could do that or you could just have an exhaust shop modify the tsp y pipe to fit. the bbks are 365 in chrome and that comes with the y so it wouldnt be that much more if any more money than the hookers.

I feel for you bro.
1.grinding a K memeber a little isn't that big a deal however I wounld'nt grind though a weld weakening the K member.

2. concider the alternative of heating up the LT and pry it off the spots where they contact. basically dinging the LT.

my advice send them back Summit is known for excellent customer service.

don't start hating you'r car because of crumie parts, contacting LTs will lead to false knock issuses.

There's a big gash and they still hit...I grind a spot away and then it hits in another. I ordered another set PN 2470-HKR which are the ones I should have got anyway when I told the guy from summit I wanted the ones without air and egr..go figure they are for 98-02 f bodies. No one still hasn't been able to explain the difference between the 2468 and 2469. Hopefully I got some headers that were off if not.

^ Agreed 100%. Not so much on the alternative #2 since you've already grinded the K so much and im not a fan of dinging up some BNIB LT's.

If you already got a TSP Y, spend a lil extra and get some 1 7/8th's IMO.

Well I got my second set of hookers and they also don't fit!

I have new poly mounts...and long tube headers hit the k member enough where I can't even install them on the passenger side. If I put the the back bolt in the front header holes don't line up and sit too low...and that's with grinding quite a bit off the k member.

What could the problem be?

It looks like I have the only Trans Am you can't put long tube headers on without major modifications so so I can either grind down the k till its almost off or send both sets of headers and the Y pipe back and put the exhaust manifolds back on..leave them or put a set of mid lengths on?

I 3/4 don't fit...why would I expect 1 7/8 to?

Is it possible your car was ever in a wreck and things may be tweaked just enough to be causing the problems?

if the K fits....dont think that any frame damage could keep the headers from fitting.......i blame hooker..........the motor mounts were not put in backwards? motor mount pedestals not switched? ........blame hooker

What brand are your poly mounts.. There is a brand that sags really bad.. I cant remember which.. If they fit fine 10k miles ago and now they dont.. Thats the only part that would wear and cause this issue.. My vote is new motor mounts.. Go with energy suspension or solid motor mounts from bmr or motivative.. Both sponsors here..
