Talking New Full Exhaust

So im working on my full exhaust for my 1998 Camaro Z28 and i figured i would make a thread and keep you guys updated.

Heres the plan in my head...hopefully it works out

Long tube headers into off road y pipe and a single cutout right after into all 3" into a muffler after axle

For the muffler i ended up getting the Flowmaster Super 44 (supposed to be Flowmasters most aggresive muffler) with a 3" inlet and 3" outlet. i was going to just clamp a turn down on it (tips arnt to big of a deal to me) but i thing im going to end up welding one on there

For the headers i got some Hooker longtubes 1 3/4 with a 3" collector. they are ceramic coated, i wanted stainless steel but with my budget and the fact that i wont be driving car in winter i think ceramic will be just fine!

Me holding them hahaha

i am just praying they install goes smooth. i will be getting them on with a lift in a shop instead of jacksatnds in my garage thank god haha

i should be getting the y pipe and cutout i ordered either tomorrow or tuesday and ill put up some pics

Just check the flanges with a straight edge. If you can see light, you'll have a leak.

If you can manage it, I'd put a Flowmaster collector on that Y.

You really should do polly motor mounts, plugs and wires while doing LTs...

Yeah see how it sounds,if it was me I would cut that merge off ,a good merge means a lot on these cars, will help with sound, also since your running a ory and not cats it will really help with rasp, but I have never heard a set up like this in person

I've always read that a plus to having a good merge is that it cuts down rasp

I will see if I can dig the video up,but he had a lot more rasp , trust me I didn't think a better merge would help how the car sounded but imo after I heard each car side by side it did help

Man I would reconsider that flowmaster muffler...every car I have been in (including my 96 grand caravan) that had a flowmaster muffler has horrible drone. Just cruising down the road at low rpms gave me a headache after a while. They are also supposed to have the worst flowing mufflers, if it were me I'd go with a magnaflow or borla. But other than that good luck with your install man, I love the look of brand new shiny headers lol
