Default Crank Pulley Wont Come Off

I'm doing a cam install on a 98 WS6, and I've used 3 different pullers, and each of them have broken... WTF!!?? Any suggestions? Usually they arent this hard at all, I'm using a longer crank bolt as well.

Were these cheap pullers from HF? I used the 'chrysler style' puller, autozone rents them for free:

Yes I agree this is the best one out there for a stock pulley. I liked it so much I went and bought one. I found that it and a good impact will bust em loose.

I used the three prong puller on my crank pulley. The pulley broke before the puller did

I would try some heat as well. Heat up the pulley, not the crank. And be careful not to get it too crazy hot.

this has worked in the past for me too, just remember like stated heat transfers to the crank and there is a seal up there. Dont wanna melt a main seal to get a pulley off... Good luck.

What's up with the longer bolt, you are removing, right? Shouldn't even need a bolt for removal except maybe to protect the crank threads.

Make sure the center stem on your puller is pushing against the end of the crank and not the pulley. These are not really on there all that tight, mine came off with a small hand wrench once the bolt was out...

use a washer that will fit inside the balancer and grease it up,and use a socket on top of that to protect the crank snout.

Seems like some of the LS pullies do NOT like to be messed with. Mine was the same way almost every damn time I *** with it. Unless I'm doing a cam swap. THIS time I did a UDP about a month ago, I had to beat the **** out of the pulley, crank on the puller a turn or three, then beat the **** out of it again to knock it lose a little, crank on the puller some more.. etc etc. I ended up breaking the edge of the pulley, but it was getting replaced anyway.
