Default Throttle Body Upgrade, Options?

I was thinking about upgrading my throttle body. I just don't know what the best course of action is. Should I buy a throttle body from SLP or should I go with a CNC'd stock one? Which option would yield the greatest results? Also, is there anyone who can port and polish them for a fair price?

If you're talking about a TB for a stock intake, I would have someone port your factory one. I wouldn't waste the money on an aftermarket TB that will make the same power as a ported stock one.

I forgot to mention that I do have the ls6 intake installed with the EGR delete! I'm going to be getting the car tuned as well. Does anyone port factory throttle bodies?

Send your stock one to one of the sponsors to be ported.

i have only found one place that CNC ports them. i doubt in terms of horsepower it would be worth it. however, it is nice to know there is more of an exact science going into it than someone with a dremel.

Is there any noticeable performance difference or gain in horsepower? Also what does it cost to have a throttle body ported for those who have had it done?

Google shaner throttle bodies. His top package is about 125 + refundable core charge. And yes there is a noticible performance gain in most applications.

zmax cnc's them. I had one and they are very nice. Typically the benefit of a ported T/B is throttle response along with a few ponies.

This is what was in the PM.

I got mine through mikenorrismotorsports.com

I don't know why I forgot Mike was a sponsor on here. I don't know if VMax has a website or not. I thought they did but I can't find it.

Which website should I go with?

http://www.s2performance.net/ or mikenorrismotorsports.com

I want to get my throttle body done right and have it yield the best results!

How did yours come out?

What about a 408ci with ls6 intake? What tb and maf. Should I get?
What are the limits of stock tb and maf on a 408 anyway?

I have only dealt with Mike so I can't comment on the other. Mine came out great. It's a shame it gets covered up.

Here is a pic of it.
