Default Need Help with Fuse ( + - ) wires

I'm sure someone up here has a picture or can let me know where the ground wire goes that comes from the batteries ( + and - ) wire harness to the fuse box on the drivers side.
the + hot is obvious, but not sure where the ground with the rubber boot goes.

I attached a picture of what I am looking for, thanks in advance.

i don't know on f-body's but this is what i would do:

Take thge rubber boot off the ground and use it on the pos terminal that you have connected on the box. You want to sheild that from anything loose hitting it.

Then connected the battery ground to the body or engine-block or something where a common ground can be found.

It is for the alternator.

This diagram isn't 1:1 but at the top you can see the little rubber boot. problem with this diagram it looks like BOTH goto the pos fuse box - can just imagine how bad that would have toasted my electrical system.

I redid that diagram

It would appear someone at GM deamed it intelligent to make a wire coming off the hot NOT RED, like the rest of the car. (other picture) Heck, sure both are HOT but come one - red stripped? labeled? ANYTHING but black.

WHY OH WHY???

Krazy's on his game today. The booted ring terminal goes to the power out stud on the alternator. It is NOT a ground.

This is an LT1 but the idea is the same:

Since this is the first time I had to completely replace an engine - misplacing 1 wire - NOT TO BAD

Thanks folks, knew y'all would have an answer.

Chilton SUCKED at helping here, no pictures of this and all black and white. hard to see color in b/w.

I still think it was stupid of GM to make a hot wire black.

black is always the ground (or so I thought)'

Until you find the next four misplaced wires

There is a standard for vehicle wiring colors, SAE J1292.
