You should never have to "keep replacing the gaskets"
Buy good ones, install them with the new headers and don't worry about it again..

Get whatever headers you are comfortable paying for. 1 7/8 will give you more gains than 1 3/4 but theyre all basically the same. Just whatever you want to pay for

Depending on what kind of shape they're in, you could reuse the original factory multilayer gaskets.

I only had like 46k on my Firebird when I installed LTs. I went ahead and replaced mine with some new Factory Manifold Gaskets, but my originals would have been fine.

Either way, don't use the Gaskets that are supplied with the Headers, otherwise you will be replacing them "all the time". Head to the local dealership and lay down $30 (or whatever they cost) for a set of new gaskets. Then during disassembly, inspect yours and decide whether or not you can reuse or replace them. If you reuse, then simply return the gaskets and get your money back.

Also, be sure you look into upgrading your Motor Mounts, while you have the Factory Manifolds off the car. There is no better time to bite the bullet and get this done. Good luck.

Gaskets should be purchased once, they don't need replacing. My first set on my 427ci lasted 4 years and looked fine when I had to remove my heads for a rebuild. I think I paid $16.00 if I remember right for regular GM replacement gaskets, been fine since 2006.

+1 on GM gaskets. Also for the first couple months after the install check the header bolts just to be sure none of them are backing out. After that they should be good.
