Which 85mm throttle body?
Which 85mm throttle body? Okay Ill be picking up a fast 78mm intake tomorrow and want to port it and put an 85mm tb on just need opinions about which one to get.... Ive looked and the only ones I can find are the bbk and professional products tb.... which is worth the money? whats your experience? Thanks for the advice....

the bbk is garbage i have one that i now use as an ash tray car NEVER ran right and was actually told by a shop to chuck it, they're garbage and the idle circuit is jank my car never could level out and idle normal and the plate that comes with the bbk that goes between the Throttle body and the intake is 85 mm on the TB side and 78mm on the other side to make a smooth transition into the intake you'd be better buying or having your stock one ported and polished.

why spend $$$ for a FAST 78mm intake ur better off with the ls6 intake otherwise ur just waiting your money. should just port out the stock throttle body otherwise look at nw and a fast tb
The fast 78mm has the same internals as a fast 90... which if ported yields better gains then a ls6 I am getting the fast 78mm for what it would cost me to get a ls6 intake.. I have read the ported fast 85/85 threads and see that most run a professional products 85mm was just wondering if there are and better solution then that... This will be going on a heads/cam car...

i feel like if this intake is going on a heads/cam car your gonna need a bigger intake like 92 or 102 but i would stay away from the 102 even tho the 92 is rare

I would run a stock ported throttle body UNLESS you plan on opening up the inlet to 85mm to match the throttle body. There's no need for a throttle body that is bigger than the hole right behind it.

92 is big for stock displacement 102 were really for built stroker motors really anything over 377cid. my 92/92 combo makes excellent power on my little 383. fwiw.
I have a Professional Products 85mm throttle body on my Ported FAST 85mm intake. Setting the idle screw just right to get the IAC counts in line was a pain as it uses jam nuts to hold the screw in place. I have no issues with the TB function. It seals well, the idle is good and the throttle blade doesn't hang up.
The only real issue is the throttle bracket didn't clear the PCV tube on the intake. This stops the TB from going WOT all the way. Some light griding on the throttle bracket and all was good. Someone else locally had the same issue with a FAST 78 and PP 85mm throttle body.
