Default Getting black specs on my bumper

have no idea where to put this,
Car is 2002,M6, LS1, H/C/I with catted-y. Car runs great, no codes.
I have noticed since the parts have been installed on my car,
after a couple days after washing. The inner parts of my exhaust tips are very dirty (black, sooty, which I assumed was normal) But I am getting little black specs of soot like material all over my bumper.
When I wipe it with my finger it smears, and sometimes very hard to wash off.
Is this normal?
Plus my car is white, so it is easy to see.

If it has not used any oil after the parts install and no leaks, must be soot.

If it has used oil, you might have to install a catch can.

A cold engine is going to run a little rich on that first start up, plus the cats are also cold and they need to be hot to do there job.

Have you had your PCM Tuned to account for the new parts?

If not, my guess is you're running rich.

I would definitely look into an Aftermarket Tune. At least a Mail-Order-Tune, unless you have a Shop with a Dyno nearby and can afford running your ride on the rollers.

If you already have a Tune on the car, I'm with 99Bluz28. You should invest in a bottle of Detail Spray and some Microfiber Rags so you can wipe down the bumper when you get to your destination.

car has been street tuned and dyno tuned.
and I am running a catch can.
A/F ratio is 14.5 at idle and when driving, on decel it goes to 12.5 but comes back up when gas pedal is depressed or coming to a stop.

it's 231/230 111lsa
I will have to check the cam card for the lift.
I think it was like 630 on intake and a little less on the exhaust.
It doesn't bother me that much. I just want to make sure it is ok.
I just assumed it was a byproduct of running H/C/I

How long ago did you install these parts on your car, and did this just now start happening?

The intake/exhaust valve overlap of 8.5* is a contributing factor, Check you spark plugs if they look good don't worry about it.

Parts were installed about 7 months ago, and has done it from the get go.
The car uses about a quart 1/2 of oil every 3000 miles or so.
I checked the plugs last week, everything looked normal.
thanks for the help guys

I have the same crap on mine. But I don't have cats. That's the last part I wash on the car because it destroys the wash rag. Like Blue said, even with cats that cam pukes a lot more crap through the exhaust than stock.
