DMH Cutout rattle!solutions? dmh but wont reply back!
so after a few months of having my cutout rattle, (the butterfly valve would just slap against the housing.
i took it off and noticed the motor and butterfly blade was loose. cant do much since the motor and gears are riveted on.
after numerous emails and phone calls to DMH for the last 3-4 months with no response back whatsoever, the reason i went dmh was because of the great customer service and warranty
i just took it off im thinking if anyone has tried to fix themselves or if its normal for the motor to have a bit of a "wiggle"
looks like the rubber seal on the cutout housing were the blade sit on is gone btw.
took it off the car, I am thinking of sending it back with a copy of my receipt.
any advice or ideas are welcome, thanks..

My cutout has begun to rattle some, maybe play in the
tooth-area where it rests. If I bump it electrically it gets
quiet again for a bit and then relaxes.
I'm thinking about adding a "clock spring" for a little bit
of hold-closed tension.

I installed my DMH 2 years ago and haven't had any issues with it. The only reason I went with DMH over the QTP was because of the superior build quality and customer service. It's troubling to hear that they're ignoring their customers though.

I have also had problems contacting them. I emailed them a while ago about buying just the motor since mine wont work anymore (my fault i believe). So i wasn't seeking any warranty just didn't want to have to purchase a new pipe and wiring harness with it. So i emailed them and received a response after a couple days asking what size i had. I replied right away and now they wont return my emails. Mostly frustrated because I also went with DMH because of the customer service.

I really sorry for you guys. All of you got sucked into the great service this character has. Its great service when you want to buy something. But if he knows your number on caller id, he aint getting back to you. Seeing this alot with DMH.
Were are all the nut huggers that defend him???
Pretty crappy that he doesnt even offer replacement parts.

Glad I found this post, I was actually driving my car tonight when I heard a loud sound from the back area of my car ( that were the cutout is ) I did not think much about it, well I started hearing a rattling sound from the exhaust, and then I noticed when I use the cutout switch its not doing anything, the exhaust note is staying the same, so I get to looking at the exhaust and I look inside and see a metal plate laying in the exhaust, so I guess something on the cut out broke.... its DMH probably a older model, the guy I bought this car from said he put that cutout on like 8 years ago. So I'm wondering if I can take this off and somehow weld it back together???
