Should most definitely sound better and flow better as well, with the sacrafice of a lil ground clearance in most cases

It will gain a bit of power, but the real gain will be in the sound department.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the flowmaster is a 3" dual in dual out?

If that's the case, I'm also gonna go ahead and guess that that setup is holding you back quite a bit. Even dual 2.5" FMs have been seen to hold back some power, so can't imagine what 1 slightly bigger will do.

If you get a dual exhaust with a crossover and some straight through mufflers I bet you'll gain quite a bit of power, especially under the curve.

No kidding. I'm still getting the setup planned that I wanted on my Camaro, but it's still gonna cost me north of $2k for stainless steel (without headers) for a custom setup.

Unless your cars underside is in mint show room condition....or are planning for future car shows...why stainless?? It is your choice, and if money is no issue, I guess go for it. My TD setup with Headers and mmounts with install and tune ran about $1350.
All that stainless looks good in a box or while your taking pics of it ...2 weeks on the road..looks like any other metal...

The FM might be holding you back a little but the main reason to switch would be for the sound unless your going max effort. I have kooks lts with cats, GMMG and you cant even hear my buddies Kooks TD's with cats next to my car. Its just way too quiet for me. There are guys running 9's on y-pipes.

ehhh....not so much.

the 80 series flowmaster cat back is a single in dual out cross flow design.

flowmaster has some of the best flowing mufflers on the market, just not the 80 series.

2 10 series single chamber flowmasters will flow right with the straight thru bullets you speak of, and sound miles better doing it.

My car is in pretty good condition, but I'd rather have it done right the first time.

i had my true duals made over a year ago out of stainless for $450. I will never go back to a catback system/y pipe ever. The sounds is amazing with an x-pipe and the midrange power is a big difference.

i did however cheap out and get steel bullet mufflers for right now.....but still love the sound

I was just trying to justify your $2000 cost on your stainless comment... You could have the TSP TDs like me done right for way under the cost your talking about. On the other side, it will sound alot better than your current setup, that's for sure.

I'm guessing that for $2k he's planning on running it clear to the bumper, and stainless is a no brainer if you plan to keep you car for a long time because I wouldn't want to spend $800+ for an exhaust that will eventually rust out and need replaced. Although for $2k+ I'd just buy the Kooks true dual setup and be done with it.

And then I'll have crazy noise, a lot of drone, and not what mufflers I want.

Yep, headers to the tips, mandrel bent, 3". Reason I don't want Kooks TDs, though I've considered it, is because I want to put on my TSP 1 7/8 I have behind me, I don't want cats, but have to pass a visual (straight pipe cats), and I want Borla mufflers.

to answer all my questions in one messge. my car is pretty close to a show car. besides the interior that needs to be finished. arh offers a 2.5 inch true dual setup from the headers to tips which i believe im supplying the cme not 100% on the tips yet though. i want loud and clean idk what to expect and if you guys think this exhaust will be worth the 1850 im going to go for it. and as far as clearance goes somehow they managed to make less ground clearance issues as far as the pics they send me show.
