From what I have learned/read since I have been on here, a lid is a lid. Get which ever you like.

 

In that case I would just get the SLP no sense in paying 85$ more.

Yup, the only lid other than the slp I would get is the clear lid (can't remember the manufacturer) just for aesthetics. But for the price slp ftw.

Performance wise they are all the same. Some folks feel strongly about fitament. I say get the cheapest that you think looks decent.

 

FTP tested that same lid in the 98mm version against the SLP lid. And it gained noticeably. So I'd get the 98

 

98 ftw...but you need a 85mm maf. Get one from a truck, will be hells cheaper than an SLP Maf

The clear lid fits terribly around the back portion of the lid.

Whoops, didn't notice you were looking at the 104mm... well, it's worth it IMO

I feel strongly about fitment. The SLP weather stripping provided does not provide enough seal, neither does the MTI clear lid. On the other hand, my FTP fit perfectly. Think about this, if you don't care about fitment, why do you run with an air filter?

 

fwiw, if you're handy with a heat gun, you can easily expand the lid opening, bend tabs to make the back seal better, etc... buy the cheapest lid you can find and a $9 Harbor Freight heat gun plus 10min of work and it'll fit better than the expensive lids...

 

The FTP lids have a much larger internal volume and outlet size than all the other lids on the market. They are designed for people that are running a larger size MAF or speed density.

We do have an adapter for the 98mm lid that you can order with your lid so you can use it with the stock MAF. Then, if you upgrade down the road, you just remove the adapter and install a larger 85mm MAF.

The FTP 104mm lid is designed for the TSP or Lingenfelter 100mm MAF sensors. These MAF's are designed for motors making over 550 HP.

 

I bought a new MTI clear lid from WS6store last year and I've had ZERO issues. I couldn't even complain of a clip coming undone either

I got mine last year from the WS6Store as well

 

VERY satisfied with my FTP 104. Fits great and you can clearly see it has more volume and a larger outlet. Only way to go with a 100mm Maf IMO...

 

Ive had SLP and FTP, neither one fit very well. I think it depends alot on the car.

I have yet to put my lid on since the car is in storage here's to hoping it fits decent...
