Is this what they are called... Melco coil packs???

For the average application, your money is better spent elsewhere. The car coils are quite impressive to start with when it come to spark energy

There are 2 types of truck coils, these are the ones without a heat sink.
To do a bolt in type swap, you need:
coils
coil brackets
coil harness (truck)
truck plug wires
The coils sit higher so the f-body wires will have too much tension on them. Truck coils have different connectors.
Thanks to Harlan for giving me most of this info last year, plus info from Valvegod and Craig at FAST.

What do you do for aftermarket wires or do you just run the stock wires?
Gene's karshop has the truck coils...which ones, I'm not sure. But it includes the coil packs brackets and wiring harness for 250 for a brand new set. Do you think I should stick with the LS1 packs or go with this deal?

Unless you're gonna be making over 700rwhp, save your money for something else
the only real reason to go to a stronger coil is if you're making enough cylinder pressure (ie HP) to "blow out the spark". You get to a point in cylinder pressures where the coil just can't get enough energy to the plug to make the jump across the gap.
the stock coils are pretty stout pieces to start, and the truck coils are only a slight improvement of them. The data I've seen on the mototron smart coils looks promissing as a further upgrade from there, but there's setups coming out on the car and truck coils nearing the 1KHP level. Can't argue with that for performance of an OEM coil
in short, don't waste your money

W2W saw the spark getting snuffed out at 850 fwhp.
I got a set since I am going to have to cut into the injector harness for my FAST system.
if you are not making over 700rwhp I would not worry about it.
I got a set of MSD Truck wires. They are longer.
