Default h/c cam with stock manifolds

I recently bought a h/c car with stock manifolds and im thinking that longtubes would probably add more hp than headers on a stock car.

I am basically wondering how much hp i could be loosing because of this and if it could hurt anything because of all the air going in and not being able to get out.

Car does have a slp lid and ls6 intake I checked the numbers on the manifold.

with manifolds instead of LT's you are giving up 15-20rwhp. Long tubes are one of the most important upgrades. And when you say long tubes would add more hp than headers what do you mean? Long tubes are headers?

I would think it would benefit you more than a stock car to do long tubes. If your cam was spec'd for stock manifolds you might want to think about doing a cam swap in the future.

I misunderstood that he already had a h/c installed and was running manifolds. I completely agree that it is more than 15-20rwhp. I wonder what cam he is running?

I don't know the specs on the heads they are 241 heads and the guy i bought it from didn't know the specs he said they have beehive springs.

But as i was leaving the local hangout one of the guys from a shop in town told my friend he recognized the car and he built the motor. So hopefully i can get some more info from him.

Get some LT headers, it'll be worth it.

I'd bet 30-35 hp with H/C there already.
