yeah dude go look under the hood, the cruisecontrol cable has that rounding lump in it, you can adjust it. i didn't hit 4.6V on mine till i adjusted it. only got 4.5V.

you still have to pretty much stand on the gas pedal to hit peak tps voltage

If your standing in front of your car follow the throttle cable from the tb. As you follow it up, it bends left towards the left side of the engine bay. You'll see a plastic piece that is around that cable. It's maybe 3/4" in diameter. You havge to unclick that, slide the cable adjustment up and reclick the plastic pice to lock in the position. I know it sounds confusing, but when you find the adjustment piece im talking about you'll figure it out.

ok, ran into a problem, I dont have anything attached to my throttle cable. It goes straight back, then takes a sharp right turn over the intake, then into the firewall on the driver's side. My car didnt come with TCS or anything, so maybe this is my problem??? any input would be great

I do have cruise, but its adjusted all the way, so that didnt help any.
Damnit!! this is always my luck!! Oh well, I guess the only thing to do is adjust the slack in the pedal. I found a write-up on this when I did a search today. Thanks for the info

maybe your cable is stretched? possible?

got the link for the slack in the pedal. I was thinking about modifying the fulcrum of the gas pedal/tb so there was less travel more throttle.

yeah I think I need to do something like that with the pedal. I dont think that the cable is stretched, at least not anymore than it was when I got it. It's always been a problem, I just never realized how much slack there was until now.

Thats impossible. If you have a 02 ws6 your car should be identical to mine. Are you sure you followed the right cable? It bends up and to the left and then comes down the let side of the engine bay. iIf you follow the cable maybe 14 inches(guesstimate) from the tb you should see what I'm talking about.

yeah, my throttle cable and cruise control cable are right next to each other located on the left hand side of the TB and both of them do like I described. Thats why I didnt know if maybe it was because of not having TCS that there wasn't anything attached to either cable. I'm kinda lost?????

Take off the kick panel under the dash. Pull the throttle
cable out from the firewall while pushing the pedal arm
toward it. How much slack is uncovered? If it's an inch
or more, make yourself a spacer for the cable to take
out the slack. I used vacuum hose slit lengthwise and
a piece of heat-shrink tubing to sleeve it.

It's maybe half an hour including buttoning it all
back up (if you have the right hoard of scrap).

I used a bit of 1/8" vac hose that was hanging
off some old SBC parts in the shed and I already
had the heat-shrink tubing assortment handy
(purpose of this being, to keep the vac hose
from gapping along the slit and letting the end-
ball on the cable pull through). One of the pieces
in the bag (which I think was from Home Depot
electrical section) is just the right size to barely
slip over the end-ball and you want a piece of
vac hose that also is a just-barely fit so the
sleeve doesn't want to go wandering. You could
shrink it with a heat gun to make it semi-permanent
though I didn't bother.

i was looking at my car today, and i looked at both the throttle cable and the cruise control cable and they both have the plastic ring things to adjust the slack around the cables near where my tower brace is.

Another crazy temporary idea would be to tie your trottle cable in a knot and then put it back on the tb. It would take up maybe a 1/2 inch of slack. It's a lazy ghetto fix, but it would work.

yeah both my throttle and cruise cables are solid all the way to the firewall. LOL, I thought about tying it a knot out of frustration, but decided it wouldnt be a good idea
