Throttle body coolant

Throttle body coolant

I hear about guys by bypassing the coolant line going through the throttle body of the 5.3 vortec. What's a fail safe way to plug it up?

Run a new hose all the way from the driver side coolant tube to the radiator. you can leave the throttle body holes open...they dont go anywhere but to each other.

I used a short piece of 1/4" stainless tubing I had laying
about. Been fine for 9-10 years.

I'm assuming here, but if the 5.3 throttle body has the same coolant connections as the 5.7, BMR sells this kit:

But if you're willing to look, the same pieces in the kit can be found at local hardware and auto stores, probably a little cheaper. It's just a fitting to connect the hoses and clamps, then caps for the throttle body connections.

People have improvised their own versions of something like this on all kinds of cars.

After you bypass use vacuum caps on the throttle body.

Which hose you talking about on driver side I have huge hose ?
