Default 02 exhaust fit on 99?

02 has stock manifold aftermarket y pipe and catback exhaust

And I wanna put it on my 99

Both r z28 with stock manifolds

Will it direct bolt or issues? I read that 99 won't fit 02 but it didn't say anything bout vice versa

I'll just be getting the y pipe and catback from 02

I couldn't tell you bud but I know in 2001 GM put less restrictive manifolds on our engines if that has anything to do with it.

The manifolds on the 02 don't have EGR provision , so you won't be able to use the EGR on your 99; if it maters.
Beside that it should fit just fine.

Should definitely fit, the stock diameter exhaust components on the 98-02 cars are all interchangeable from what I understand.

00-02 y will not bolt up to 98-99 manifolds. Pasenger side 98-99 manifold exit is in a slightly different location than 00-02. The different cast iron manifolds started in 00, not 01. All 98-99 exhaust components will interchange. All 00-02 exhaust components will interchange physical location wise. 00 manifolds have the EGR boss drilled and tapped. 01-02 manifilds have the EGR boss but not drilled and tapped.

Is this something simple that an exhaust shop could cut and weld to fix?

Not to thread jack, but are the cats in different locations too? My dad just bought a '99 and one of the cats is under the car (like on the V6), where both of mine were attached directly to the manifolds.

98-99 drivers side cat is in same location as 00-02, bolted directly to manifold. Passenger side cat on 00-02 bolts to manifold separate from the y-pipe but on 98-99, pass side cat in an integral part of the y-pipe.

What if I can get manifolds with rest of exhaust? No issues then? I have already done air pump and egr delete on my 99
