I think you've got that the wrong way around.

MSD coils show no improvement over stock and have a very high failure rate.

Firecore50

best plug wires I have seen. they actually snap onto the plugs

Had MSD they suck. Boots are cheap. Don't even clip on the coil well

Im using tr6 ngk's and noticed a lot better response and mileage.Using msd plug wires and thinking of trying oem or granatelli.Msd's after a yr seem to be slightly arching and becoming brittle from heat.Tuner said to stick with oem and the stock heat shields or granatelli for an upgrade.

MSDs or Granatelli. The MSDs have low resistance already and over a few inches its almost nothing

Most of this was gleaned from another thread here. The LS7 number is from my on the shelf wires. All wires tested here were 12 inches long except the LS6 & LS7 wires so double their numbers.

Granatelli 8mm Steel Solid Core Cable - 0.1 ohms
Vengeance Racing - 40~80 Ohms per foot (from later in this thread)
MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor - 71.6 ohms
Accel 8.8 300+ Ferro-Spiral Race Wire - 166.1 ohms
Jacobs Electronics EnergyCore 8.5mm - 178.3 oms
Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm Silicone - 301 ohms
Mallory Pro Sidewinder 8mm Silicone Suppression Wire - 313 ohms
LS1 (6 inches) - 351 (702) ohms
Moroso Blue Max Spiral Core 8mm - 661 ohms
LS7 red (6 inches) - 777 (1554) ohms
Magnecor KV85 Competiton 2.5mm - 2053 ohms

The Granatelli wires come with a ferrite ring on them-presumably to control RFI. I have no RFI issues using them.

While Granatelli (and pretty much everybody else) claims HP gains with their wires, I wouldn't know it or have any proof. But I do know my car runs better with them compared to the stock wires. I'm running the LS1tech.com standard spark plugs, the NGK TR55.

As the MSD wires also have a pretty low resistance, I imagine they'd help an engine run "better" also.

That's why I doubted the msd wires at first Paul bell bc I've heard too many bad things about the coils and to stick with the stock coils. The msd wires must be alright after all and cheaper the GM oem ones which surprises me

Great. You can test their resistance and post the results here, please.

The thickness of the wires really has nothing to do with how they carry the spark. Thicker insulation will make it more durable and stronger.

we all know that silly, but compared to msd they seem legit. Not taking anything away from gran wires, but for the $$ veng has a very legit plug wire.

They are $100 shipped

Looks like I'm choosing between msd vengeance and granatelli. I can get the msds for cheapest with plugs included so I'm liking that. What's the ohms resistance on the vengeance ones, I can't find that anywhere

Fow what its worth, Gran wires feel stronger then OEM, they "click" onto the plugs, have a heavy duty boot, and the factory heat shields work flawlessly. I don't know about the others, just that i bought oriely wires for my old z28 for $65 and they melted in like 1 month...
