Default Change the Exhaust or stay same?

Hey guys new to this forum and new owner of a 99 TA M6. I bought the car with hooker shortys, with a y pipe and then into a flowmaster muffler(no cats). I have been planning on getting probably the TSP headers and true dual exhaust thinking it would be needed and make a difference. I plan to buy a head/cam and a fast intake with a different TB. I guess my question is, will it even be worth it to change the exhaust to LT and true duals or can I stick with what I have now? thanks for the help and all the other great info you guys give out.

LTs would make a huge difference, especially in a HCI car

Shorties and the Flowmaster cat back are 2 of the worst things a head/cam ls1 car can have for exhaust based on all the information and results threads I've seen on this site.

It is well worth the upgrade to TSP 1 7/8" longtubes and duals.

yes that works for now, but if and when you change to heads/cam then the LT's will work and sound better. Just my .02

I would say totally worth it. Shorties aren't that big of an upgrade compared LTs, and true duals will always flow / sound better than a Y pipe.

Definitely get rid of the shorties AND the flowmasters ASAP. I wouldn't even wait until you get the Heads, cam, and intake. Switching from what you have now to a set of TSP 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" headers and a good flowing catback will be a big step as is.

ok well I had been looking at getting some Pacesetter LT and then the TSP true duals. Any fitment issues I will have to worry about? I just ordered some SFC from Founders so hope I will not have issues with that. Thanks for all the help guys, new to the newer cars. The only thing I had owned as a fun car was old muscle cars that seem so simple compared to these.

Another thing I have been wondering is what I should do first, buy a new TB/Intake or H/C? which one will require changing over more stock parts? With a H/C can I still use the stock TB and intake? obviously I wouldnt be getting the most out of it, but if I have to spend 1k for new exhaust, I wont be able to afford doing all at once like planned.

Ronny the flowmasters's problem is sound, not flow. I would say wait and buy the TB/intake and H/C together, saves you tuning money. Start with the exhaust.
