Default True duals vs 3" single dumped

Right now I've got a mess of a true dual system on my T/A. I'm running LM II mufflers. My question is if I go back to a single 3" system using one of the LMII mufflers dumped at the axle will I lose enough power to see a loss in ET? Its a heads/cam/intake car. Also will this quieten the car down any? Right now it drags the ground on every hump and its way to loud. I've got a Borla XR1 dumped on my cammed camaro and I love it. Not loud at all. I'm hoping with the LMII and single it would have a similar sound. What do you think?

What size pipes are your current duals?

I would expect a double digit loss with that setup, get the duals reworked

Well then the answer is obvious (as already stated) since going from 2 to 1 of the same pipe size pretty much cuts flow capacity in half. A single 3-inch pipe roughly equivalent to 2.25-inch duals (all else equal).

Rework that with a flowmaster merge and 4" single pipe dumped and zero loss and maybe a gain. The scavenging of a good y with big enough pipe behind it is hard to beat.

yeah will I disagree. I just switched from my y pipe with lm1 to TSP bullet duals and I ******* hate it. It felt like I lost power

When I first went to TDs I had a ORY and a Hooker catback with like 2 1/4 tail pipes on it so my tips would work. When I put the duals on I noticed quite a bit more low and mid range power but through a full length catback. I didn't know if it being dumped would help any. I'll probably either get a X pipe and rework my duals or get a merge and go 4".

Butt dyno is notoriously inaccurate. Also all that sound under your car makes it sound like your are fedding more throttle than a comarable out the back system. I have had both. Would never go back.

I'm also running an xpipe into dual LM2 mufflers, you're the only other person I've heard running that combo!
