Default Any gains from k&n fipk?

Are there any gains to using the k&n fipk over an aftermarket lid?

You will see more gains from a lid+ram system on the track.

Agreed.

I gained a little over the k&n with a stock air box, slp lid and the fra.

Unless you can get the k&n dirt cheap....pass.

Fast toys ram air- http://fasttoys.net/shop/Fast-Toys-R...camaro-Firebird/

Super Sucker ram air- http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...cturers_id=282

Chris1313 (the biggest if your going non-ac)- http://www.speedinc.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=Induction about a quater of the way down

The K&N is a terrible intake IMO.

In real world conditions a properly sealed ram air set-up like those posted above will benefit you much more than the K&N.

Definitely go with a lid setup and one of the above mentioned ram air setups for the best performance. I prefer the Chrs1313 setup which has proven to yield some very nice results.

Is the SLP cold air induction package or "flowpac" a ram air kit?

It does include a ram air scoop, but just on a smaller, less effective level compared to some of the other versions that include a much larger scoop that extends further down.

Yeah it is, I didn't think of it when I made the list, but like Aaron said I don't think it has the second lower extension that helps channel the air.

A lid and a chrs1313 non ac will make the most power, it has been proven time and time again.

Do I need to have a lid for it to work properly or will it be fine for about a month until I can get a lid?
