Default Just finished installing BBK long tubes!

I would like to thank everyone for the awesome insight, write up's and advice that I have taken from this site, I dont think I would have gained the courage to do the job myself without it!

I am very happy that I decided to go with LT's rather then replacing the faulty drivers side cat.

It took me about a week from beginning to end, I took my time through the whole thing and worked on it through the weekend and evenings after work. I would say that just about anyone could do it if they had basic mechanical knowledge a few good tools and 4 jack stands.

I would recommend BBK long tubes to anyone, I am very very happy with there product, the headers look great and are quality made. They fit extremely well, I did not have one install issue with the headers or the off road y pipe they bolted to the car like GM designed them from the factory.

I would also like to comment on the excellent service that I received from Frost Tuning, Steve really runs a class act and so far my car loves the life he has breathed into the PCM, I would recommend his mail order tuning to anyone.

My current set up includes a GMMG cat back exhaust and I was a little worried that it would sound terrible like the majority claim however I dont think it sounds bad at all, I will admit that its louder then before and there is some rasp however I think that its tolerable and its nice to make my presence known!

Thanks again to everyone on LS1 Tech for the help!

I love how my bbk's fit. The only problem was that the y pipe is the same diameter as the I pipe for my exhaust.

Mine is too, I just used a good band clamp and the rest is history, no problems yet!

I used a rubber mallet.

I pounded it into the pipe with my 10lb sledge to open it up a bit and it fit like a glove after that.

To the OP:it feels good after your done all that hard work and Frosts MO/Bolt on tunes are great

All I did was get an exhaust coupler no need to beat on anything lol. Just slip the I pipe on the inside and put the smaller part in the y pipe and clamp it. $3 no headaches lol.

I know I am bringing up a dead thread here, but I am very curious what you guys think my set up would put down on the dyno and 1/4 mile? There is a guy I work with that has a 2010 ss w/LS3 (borla cat back), he talks a lot of smack...Wondering how I would fair against him, any idea???

my y pipe also did not fit right..... got it welded and done. Installed mine in about 4 hours. Hardest part was getting the stock y pipe off the I pipe. Congrats OP and enjoy.

btw... If I had an extra set of hands (did the work myself), it would have been quicker.

IMO, let him talk smack, He's going to whether you race or not, win or lose.
He might have a bigger engine with more power, but he also has more weight.

I loved my frost tune. Ran it for a year. I got it logged by my tuner and it was really rich and timing was 40-42 at wot. My tuner said other than that and most tq management was still there, my tune wasn't bad.

I've had the BBK setup for over a year now. It definitely is the best budget header setup on the market. These were a breeze to install compared to another set I've done.

All I did was get a 3" id/od exhaust coupler and just slipped the I pipe in the inside and put the smaller part in the y pipe and band clamped it.
