DMH Exhaust Cutout Motor/Gear Pictures
Last week my DMH exhaust cutout stopped working. After getting under the car to take a look to see what was going on I noticed the motor attached to the gearbox was loose and only one screw was holding the motor in place. I ended up taking it apart. One of the screws had backed completely out the motor and upon trying to screw it back in I noticed the screw would not thread into the hole anymore. I found two slightly thicker screws and reattached the motor securely.
Fast forward to this past friday someone tells me something was dragging under my car and when I take a look it appears the motor completely separated itself from the gearbox and disappeared. Even though it had been working fine after replacing the screws a couple of days prior.
The pictures below are just for you guys who may have taken the gearbox apart and removed some of the gears and cannot get the order right when trying to reassemble. There are four rivets that will need to be drilled out to split the gearbox. You will see in a couple of my pics where I used two small screws and nuts two reassemble the two halves.
Motor missing
Remove 4 allen head bolts
Remove allen head screw closest to blade
Pry cutout away from gearbox
Remove second allen head lock screw
Remove coupler
Open gearbox
Take note of gear arrangement
Through the hole above the orangish gear is where the gear attached to the missing motor would normally protrude into the gearbox
Order of gears. 3 and 4 look the same but the gear sprocket in the center is shorter on 3 compared to 4.

I myself really want to do cut outs but it seems like everyone and their brother are having major issues with them such as this. So for now I wait till someones customer support becomes better. Good right up btw.

DUDE! YOU ARE AWESOME!!
i have tried so many combos and couldn't get the gear layout correct but i didn't take that pin out so i couldn't get gear 1 under the other gears!! now i can try to put mine back together and see if she works, or see if my motor is messed up.

Received my new Race Ready motor/gearbox today. With a couple of minor mods I was able to adapt it to the DMH cutout.
new motor
old motor
remove the old plate and install the new one supplied with the new motor
enlarge the hole next to the screw same on the other side
this was the most "bootleg" part I used a nut and two washers on each corner to space the gearbox from the cutout. Im sure I can find a nice spacer at home depot or lowes but this will do for now.

So the only modifications you really needed to do was enlarge the holes?
I have 2.5" low profile cutout. Passenger side cutout on my. After a couple tests I am assuming its my motor.
I know the problem with DMH and not answering phones/emails so I am preparing the worst so I can have a functional cutout.

That is what it took to work on mine. After doing this I emailed the company that makes the motors. You can email the same person I did lori@multiproducts.com and she can give you a price on a replacement. She will need a couple numbers off the casing of the motor.
