Default wanting the car to be LOUD!!!! $1500 to spend...

I want to make my car louder...

all i have right now is a Bassani Offroad Y-pipe with a turndown after the Y-pipe... no catz or anything...

I am looking for a louder more agressive sound...

I have $1500 to spend what should I get?? I know headers... if you want to, throw out a reccommendation... but besides that, what else?

Check out the QTP longtubes and dual cutout y. Sounds mean, even on the web site.

Definately Duals! I have 3"into an x-pipe with 2 1/2" out into Spintech pro shootout mufflers with dumps. There is nothing like it. It sounds like nascar with low gears when I get on it. No rasp from a Y-Pipe. Just a Deep mean tone while cruizing around and a mean *** growl when I get on it.

I also could never consider it being worthwile to spend as much money as some do on the expensive cat-backs. (except maybe the GMMG it is really nice.

Headers a must. Get a very agressive cam to give your car that nice muscle car lope.

get a decent sized cam, true duals 3" inch pipe with bullets dumped before the axle...i honestly do think it gets louder. hearing a few cars with a decent cam with dumped bullets...those cars sound like death creeping up on you. just sick. if you want more tone to the exhaust get 10 series flowmaster mufflers and dump those. that should give you a loud *** car and 1500 is a decent amount of dough to do this. this way you can afford a good tune with the cam!
good luck post sound clips when you decide which set up you are gonna go with!

Depending on what you end up going with $1,500 could be enough to get you a full exhaust with something left over for some bolt-ons. Even if you pay for installation of everything you should still be able to get headers and duals dumped at the axles well within that limit. If you go with headers, y-pipe, and cat-back it could get kind of expensive especially if you get high flow cats as well. If you want LOUD try and find a car with headers, high flow cats, and loudmouth to listen to it might be what you are looking for. I bet it's louder than the duals, even though the duals sound better.

my car is lowered and i don't know if i have enought ground clearance for an X-pipe... (isn't that what true duals are?)

i am thinking about getting a TR224 cam, Hooker LTs and Y-pipe w/bullet and dump it after the Y...

then get a tune... dunno... still doing some research... i just want the loudest/meanest sound

so you just want your car to be really loud?? Buy some headers, and a y-pipe and a nice quiet exhaust. Over some weekend, put the headers on....stop right there. Now, during the week, drive around with open headers. By Wednesday (depending on how much you drive) you will be installing the y-pipe and catback you previously purchased. Repeat until deaf or you get tired of R & R'ing the y-pipe and catback.

....or just get some power cutouts behind the headers.

I drove open headers for a month!

Of course, I had no choice.....but GD that sounded so awsome even if it did hurt my ears at time....I am getting some cutouts to open header this summer probably If you really do want LOUD, whatever you do, consider getting cutouts right after the headers
