FAST intakes?
If you keep an eye out you can get them for under $700 used (mine was under $500) and find a throttle body for $200-300 (mine was under $200). Gaskets are under $30. Injectors and rail swap over, MAP swaps over, and stock MAF is fine just need a coupling. Car has to be tuned for the cam anyway.
They're around $900 new...
Don't forget you can sell your ls6 intake for $350 or so to recoup some of that too.
Or keep the ls6...nothing wrong with that option for a cam only car at all.

I don't know what I'm doing different than everyone else on ls1tech but I've seen 3 different cam bolt on ls1s all with the 28# injectors and all 3 have maxed stock injectors (92%-105% duty cycle) once they were tuned, my old 230/224 low lift cam on stock 99 heads being one of them at 95% duty cycle.
How much the intake is worth really depends on the cam split, peak RPM, and how efficient the rest of the intake system is. You can easily log MAP readings versus ambient readings to see if there is a considerable restriction. The closer those 2 readings are at WOT, the less benefit you will get from the intake.

IMO you should only say something is "good to xxx hp" if there is little to no gain to be had below that threshold (like a larger MAF sensor on a stock to cam only car).
The BBK is another good choice for a slight bump over the ls6. It's a good bargain if you don't mind the way it looks.
