Speed Engineering Race Version Headers Now Available!!
Anyone else have this happen to them? I circled the area in red:
paradigmGT: We haven't had any returns or issues with cracking that I aware of. Its hard to tell by the picture, but if they are cracked your more than welcome to send them back for a brand new set.
Thanks

SE 1 3/4 race with SE y pipe with MagnaFlow Y fabricated in place of the original SE Y
Install went very smooth with no issues, was completed in 3 hours start to finish. Removed the old manifolds and factory Y and then straight to the new SE race headers and their Y which I customized to keep the rasp down. Keep in mind I have a lift as well as a transmission jack.
Coil packs were the only item removed from the top of the engine.
The passenger side slid right in from the bottom with the removal of the starter.
The driver side didn't want to go so instead of fighting, I removed the motor mount bolt, and jacked the motor up about 1 inch with the trans jack. The header slid right in.
Painless install, will say the c5 Z06 was about the same. A little more room up top when working on the Vette.
brobinson216: Your Car is clean, looks good.
2002Firehawk: They are around the same install time. The drivers side requires you to remove the bottom bolt on the steering arm, and swing it to the side. Passenger side slides right in. You shouldn't have to remove the starter. Both install from the bottom up.

Good to know, thanks. I'm interested in the headers+Y pipe and will place an order in the coming weeks. Just have to knock out some smaller, easier mods and then on to that.
About the gaskets - it is worth the upgrade? Spending almost $30 on something that sounds stock-ish like "GM" seems wasteful or am I mistaken?
Thanks

The drivers side collector on your 1 7/8" Race versions have a problem. Wondering if you fixed it.
I already installed mine of course and they are fine...after some fancy weld work by my exhaust shop.
But the collector is angled UPWARD towards the bottom of the car. It makes it hard for the exhaust mechanic to weld a flange on the collector to make it fit without hitting the bottom of the car. Then the pipe they weld on has to be angled in a way to make the connection and then turn it downward to head towards the Y pipe.
The entire collector needs to be angled downward so it is horizontal to the ground when installed....not angled upward.
Just an FYI for anyone buying some.
.
Thanks
