Methinks the garage needs to be cleaned up before I start...

Any before/after results? How do they compare to other headers?

I'd love to get a baseline dyno done first, but that's just over an hour away and time is hard to find between the kids and work. I'd think there's a plethora of baseline C5 dyno #'s out we can all draw a comparison from.

I'll still take the car to Geoff for the tune afterwards and *hope* to throw it on the rollers just to see what it puts down and tweak a few things.

We'll see.

How high did you guys have to get your C5 off the ground for the longtube install? I

** EDIT ** need 24"

I guess reading the instructions weren't such a bad idea...

Off to Harbor Freight for a pair of more robust, and taller jack stands.

Be carefull Dave. I know the Vette's are light, but I doubt you could bench press that thing off you.

Oh I know. I'll have a pair of 6ton where the lifting pucks are. I'll put a pair of 3ton under the crossmember as well if I have to get "persuasive" with anything.

Damn stock wires and heat shields!!!

Every single wire has pulled, broken clean in half, from the boot and the boot itself is "disintegrating" when you try to pull it.

Yey me

Progress...

Got all the plugs and wires out, AIR pump removed, most of the lines out, Blackwing and TB (that never had the TB bypass done) off, and a belly full of good beer.

Nice work Dave. I wish I lived closer to you because I'd love to lend a helping hand and throw back a few.

That looks exactly like what I did when I put my Kooks in on the T/A... about 5 blocks of wood on top of the jack...

Call me a ***** if you want, but it always scares me getting underneath a car on jack stands. I just have a phobia that the car is going to come down on me.

Nice work Dave! While it's in the air, lower that bad boy on the stock bolts!

Ha, you DEFINITELY won't hear that come from me. At all. That's the whole reason I left the house today and got the 6 ton stands. I beat on the car a bit before I got underneath. It's not going ANYWHERE. It does make me feel a bit better thought that the rear is on ramps.

I got the H pipe off. All that's left is taking off the stock manifolds and loosening All the front suspension and crossmember and installing the headers.

On a side note... Tried to order a 3/8" ceramic coated tunnel plate earlier from Los Angeles Performance Division and it kept telling me the merchant ID was invalid... Any ideas? Did they all the sudden close shop?

I just reread my comment, and see it could come off as me being a smart ***, lol! I seriously didn't know, but am glad to finally have it confirmed that it actually HAS been lowered!

I beat my sheet metal while it was on 2 jack stands and the jack... at a horrible angle to boot (I was praying it didn't slide off the jack stands since the front was so high, but the rearend was out and yeah).

I got over my phobia a long time ago. Otherwise, I never would have gotten anywhere with the car.

Yes. I am an idiot.

Before I had kids, nothing scared me. He'll, I rolled a Jeep over 7 times and walked over a mile with a broken back, had rods and screws put in, got a staff infection and nearly died, but now that I have kids, I've gotten kind of soft. What I always do is have a jack right there by the jack stands to be a backup if something happens. A lift would be really nice.

Here's what I found :
10 coupes and convertibles measured(c5), all were within 1/8" of 27.5" front and 28.75" rear(ground to fender).
