Default Intake tube question. What angle is this?

I want to build an intake for my car like the one in the pic. I just don't know what angle this tube is. Anyone got any ideas?

Just realized I posted this in the internal section. Mods, can you please move it to the external engine section?

Without seeing the tube after the bend it's only a guess, which I would have say is a 90* bend.

Mmmm I don't think it's a 90* bend. If it were then it would run into the radiator and condenser.

Sorry for the crappy drawing. Maybe this will make it easier. I think it runs like this.

Nope not a 90*.

102* or 110* range.

actually, it was probably a 90 to start, and then got chopped off below what you can see

custom angle, less than 90, more than 60...maybe 75 ish
its also a long radius, and not the regular tight radius elbows you typically see

it may have been custom bent just for his car

I have friends that have done something similar

Ok just an update in case others are wanting to do the same thing.

The parts list I have so far is a 4" 60* bend pipe. I've contacted CX racing to see if they can make one. I did some quick searching to find one on eBay and other sites but I had no luck. I'm sure someone who is better than me at searching the Internet could locate one easier. My throttle body is a 92mm throttle body so that's why I'm looking for a 4" pipe. If you're running a factory 78mm throttle body, you will need a 3" pipe. 102mm throttle body, will use a 4" pipe also.

The radiator hold down that you see in the picture can be purchased from BMR or you can just use a procharger unit. I had an extra procharger shroud that I picked up for cheap so that's what I will be using.

What I'm looking to end up with is what is in this picture. I personally believe this is one of the best ram air setups you can make. For street driving, I will have the pipe split somewhere in the bumper and use a clamp to hold a cone filter on it so no rain gets in the intake.

I will keep you posted as I acquire the parts and start the build. This seems to be a big secret around here so I feel after 14+ years, it's time for a write up. Ill start a new thread for that when I get all the pieces.

Contact Chrs1313. He runs a VERY similar setup. He might enlighten you to a few other details as well...

Are you talkin about his ram air kit? The sheet metal one that scoops air from under the bumper?

Same guy yes, but he's done tube setups as well with great success.

4" 60 & 90 degree bends is what I used. Place below sells them.

Did you have to lower your radiator to did you make it work without having to do that?

Radiator was not moved. I did have to trim some of the excess metal bracing on the radiator to get the tube to clear over it.
