Ported 799s VS TEA Trick Flow 220s
Well I am about to order some trick flows for my LS1. Just wanted to see if it's worth buying the trick flows over the cheaper ported 799. Is there that much of a difference?

If you want to squeeze out every ounce of power out of the setup and have all the other supporting mods already done (good sized cam, ported FAST etc.) then get the worked TFS220.
If you want a very good performer for a lot less money and don't have all the other parts, get the 799s ported. You can use the extra money saved for other stuff, like say a FAST. I'd rather take AI/TEA ported 799s with a matched FAST intake than the aftermarket heads with an LS6 manifold for the same price.

I'm with what ^ said. I went with AFRs but that was just for the ability to grow later if I wanted to port them. That would be the only reason I would go with the TFSs. If you go with 799s...go with AI. Great guys to deal with and do AMAZING work! My dad got a set of their 226 243s and they perform AWESOME!

Where do you get the extra $1,000 from? Trick Flow 220cc As Cast heads cost $1,699.00 and the cheapest ported 243/799 heads are going to be around $1300.00; more if you by TEA or AI ported 243/799 heads.

I Got the TEA.. It's going to be way more that 799 HP wise. I wanted to get these head for the big valves and great number. These are proven heads. it's an LS1 and with my intake should make near 510-520 whp. I wanted an NA car. Maybe N2o down the road

What did they end up costing you? Did you get the PM guides? Also, what intake are you going to be running and ballpark size of cam? You're going to need a very good intake and a decent sized cam to get to that 500 rwhp mark.

Think around $1850.. Ya the car already made 474 with ls1 intake and 28" tires.. I am going to run either Super vic, vic Jr or Pro flo.. Just don't want to loose my wipers.. I am running the G6X3
