Default New NRE X-Ram Inatake

Okay so I have seen intakes of this style before, but I have yet to see a back to back comparison of it and a quality proven intake yet. I ran across this video on Youtube, NRE is testing their new X-Ram intake vs a Fast 102 on a 496 Ls. Now I know that it's not the most powerful max effort big cube Ls, and there is much more power there to be had and he even says it is low compression and has a small cam for that size motor. The point is the difference in power between the 2 intakes, all they did is an intake swap and saw the gains.

So it is a new video and I figured I would share, tell me what you guys think of it:

Yeah, it's interesting!
I hope it actually performs as well as they think it will in real world driving conditions.

Why are we surprised a dual plenum dual tb intake beats a fast on a 500 inch motor. Who in their right mind puts a fast on a 500 inch motor? It's a poor comparison

He said intake swap only, no other changes. So I'm guessing they were running the same tune? Also I'm wondering if the cam they chose better suits their intake as well. Skeptical...

Good points here. Would like to see same comparison on something like a crate 376-LSX or 454-LSX

I agree the fast was not designed for that size motor, so it would limit the performance. Especially in the higher RPM's.

I would need to see a better match, say a LS7, before I was convinced.

But it looks cool!
