Nice! I ended up having a FM merge welded into my Pacesetter ORY, and not only did it improve the sound but it improved performance as well!

I have been thinking about cutting the merge off my new TSP y to put on the Flowmaster merge. The TSP merge looks decent but I already have to modify it because the exit is 2.5" instead of 3. Those parts aren't much cheaper than the Flowmaster merge is anyway. Wonder if there would be an improvement over the new TSP merge?

The exit is seriously only only 2.5"? 4" is best

I don't think QTP headers & Y-pipes are available anymore. Click the "buy" icon and your shopping cart remains empty.

Only thing is their headers are 304 stainless, their y-pipe merge is not...

"aluminized 16-gauge steel"

I am using the ARH Y-pipe on my SS.

That's correct, FM does not make it in stainless.

I had picked up a used set of QTP stainless race headers and it took a while to figure out who actually made them-and the Y-pipe, which I needed.

I've been modding the y's for years. It never made any sense to me for a 3"y to go into a 3" merge/catback. I cut the y to the point that I can but a 3.5" pipe up to it and then make the rest. At a minimum that little neck down goin into a catback needs to go away.

Iat the merge it is 3" but then it necks down to 2.5" to connect to a stock style catback. For the price you pay for the headers and y I would have expected quite a lot more. Not really the deal everyone makes them out to be..

I needed to get a catted Y-pipe and what they had was a setup with a four inch outlet and a reducer to 3-1/2 inch. This will match my Magnaflo cat-back nicely.

I would imagine that any shop that offers Y-pipes have several sizes of inlets and outlets available.

Just to state it (as this is NOT a vehicle specific section), this is for a LS1 F-Body.

So I took my Y-pipe pieces to a powder coat shop and they said exhaust components needed Jet-Hot coating. So I went to a Jet-Hot shop. $125.00 including the cats, ready this week.

I couldn't be happier with the flow capability of my QTP Y-pipe with the 4" flowmaster collector. I've had this exhaust set up, including my hooker catback on the car since June, 2006. I've never had a single issue.

Seems this would be a better merge option, and 304 stainless:

We do clearly show the neck down on our site. It is there to connect to a factory set up. There is plenty of length that the neck down can be cut off to fit an aftermarket 3" system. Sorry if there is any confusion there.

I did this very thing with the TSP pipe, 3.5" to 3" adaptor pipe connects the Y to my 3" catback

Sorry, I wasn't implying you guys were misleading. In fact I saw the merge was like that.

I wish I saw this Monday I saw the step down on the pics but I assumed it was 4 to 3 since the TSP Y is labeled as a 3 inch off road Y. I def am not happy that I have to cut a brand new piece to get it to work for a 3 inch I pipe
