Default 1 chamber vs. bullets

Im looking at swapping out my TSP rumbler bullets for either 1 chamber flowmaster or dynomax bullets. The TSP rumbler bullets were pretty quiet compared to dynomax.

Just wondering how loud are the 1 chambers are vs. Bullets? Will the 1 chambers fit wit no problems?

The 1 chambers are packaged pretty small, so I don't think fitment is going to be an issue, as I've seen quite a few people run them. I assume you're still running the duals dumped? I think the main difference between the two is tone. The 1 chambers will have a deeper tone, but I don't think they will be any quieter.

After hearing the 1 chambers in person I wouldn't run anything else if I were building new duals.

They've got to be obnoxiously loud with no cats though, no?

My impression was he wanted loud from the post above?

Yes they are pretty damn loud. But the tone is incredible. I've never heard a remotely quiet ls1 with duals.

I'm in the same boat as you OP. The bullets that came with my Texas Speed true duals are far to quiet for my liking. I've been back and forth so many times between running dual SLP Loud Mouth 1 resonators, Flowmaster single chambers, Dynomax bullets, and Borla XR-1's

I've heard the Dynomaxs in person and they sound pretty good on a cammed car, a good bit quieter on a stock cam car but sound pretty good either way.

Only heard the single chambers on a cammed car and the sound just blows the bullets away.

If he has duals that will get expensive and heavy in a hurry. It will also sound like **** with them open and be a whole new level of loud (in the worst possible way).

I know because I have manual dual cutouts on my car for track use. I'm thinking about removing them.

Those are the two I had kind of narrowed it down to. The SLP Loud Mouth 1 resonators and the Borla XR-1's are so damn expensive. Since you've heard both Dynomax bullets and Flowmaster single chanbers on a cammed LS1, could you tell a difference in which one was louder, or is it a wash?

With a cam though....... now that would sound bad a$$

Did not see he had duals.... expensive for sure.

I had the single chamber flows (dual setup) on my lightning with an x pipe..... Made all the lightning guys rethink the flowmaster sound on the lightning.

Thanks guys.....

Yeah i want it louder for sure. I ran dynomax bullets and it was everything i wanted in an exhaust. Just wondering what the sound difference between the 2 are. I know flowmaster has a unique sound and tone. The bullets were just angry loud..lol.

Pretty much a wash for volume but I think the bullets were a little deeper overall. The flowmaster have a really deep rumble but they also have that tinny/hollow flowmaster sound mixed in so that it's not just all low end rumble.

The bullets tone to me sounded a lot like open headers except the tone is cleaner and quieter.

The flowmasters sound more like a loud muffler. They are as close in sound to the Mustang 2v sound as a lsx can get. Which some people might not like but I think the 2v Mustang is one of the best sounding cars ever, even if they are slow turds.

I agree. Also like the exhaust note of a 4v Cobra. Thanks for the responses.

I can't see the TSP bullets being significantly quieter than a Dynomax bullet. There are only so many ways to build the things in that configuration. My Duals with Dynomax bullets were loud, but not obnoxious when I had a stock cam. Whole different animal after.

That's funny, when I say I think a stock cam 2v mustang sounds awesome with even the crappiest exhaust, all the car people I know act like I'm stupid and don't know what good exhaust sounds like. HAHA I've had that argument several times. For an LSX motor, I tend to think bullets sound better. I found that deleting the x-pipe and running straight back to bullets gives it more of a 4v mod motor sound.

You can take a bone stock GT and toss some weld in flowmaster mufflers in place of the stock ones and it will sound like it eats babies. Pretty sure that's sold more of them than anything else.

I switched from Moroso Spiral flows which was loud to Dynomax mini bullets it's wake the dead loud now! I only drive it about once a week though. 3" duals with an x pipe, it does sound nasty idling (in a good way) with a good sized cam
