Exhaust ideas I am replacing the flow master muffler in my cat back with a magna flow. The flow master has. 3" inlets and outlets while the magnaflow has 3" inlet and 2 1/2" outlets. Was considering just adapting my 3" tailpipes (which have turndowns not tips on them) to fit the magnaflow. I am changing the muffler because I can no longer stand the tinny sound of the flow master. Any opinions?
I have a magnaflow as well and I love it! I highly suggest you getting some tips for it though. Tips look a lot better than turndowns and they also change the sound a bit depending on what you get....to each there own though.
You will be happy with the Magnaflow, at first it will be a bit quiet, but give it time...the fiberglass packing has to go through a few heat cycles before the muffler fully breaks in but once it does break in it will have a nice tone.

Not everyone is a fan of TD. I love the sound.... but for a daily it's a no go for me. I had TD and got rid of it in favor of my magna flow setup. I have no more headaches when I drive now.
If you want to stick with 2 tailpipes the get a Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded, #17536.

Now if you don't want to run a tail pipe out past the edge of the bumper then just get a single 3" in/out muffler and dump it with the turn down or get a 3" SS 90* bend, and on the exit end give it a angle cut for a shorty tail pipe look. Like this:

Present exhaust is long tubes, ORY, flow master cat back with tips cut off and replaced with turndowns, and a power stick muffler in the I pipe. I have a flow master merge that will be going on the ORY too
