Jet hots w/offroad Y about $750.00,kooks w/offroad Y I paid $1034.00 from SDPC.Stainless Vs. peeling coating in 6 months.I ordered kooks and 2 weeks have gone by,I'll wait a month if I have too.Plus kooks is said to be a cake install.

Differences in performance between the two will be small, with the slight advantage going to Kook's for the fact that all the tubes are a smooth shot into the collector. You won't tell a difference in sound, either. I've installed both (using a lift) and the Kook's were easier to install. The Kook's literally slid right in, while the Jet Hots required grinding the tab on the block and a slight notch in the K member (it didn't hit when installed, but the clearance was tight). If you are thinking about Kooks, you also might want to consider QTP also, as I think you get a better Y pipe with the merge collector they use.

Yes. It helps in scavenging and makes for a nice sound as well. With the Hooker ORP, there was rasp all over the place. I had a custom Y-Pipe made with the Flowmaster Collector and it was music to my ears. The JetHot's are not in the same league as Kooks or QTP. I had the Hooker LT's coated by JetHot and did not last 1 year before they rusted. Save the money and get the QTP's. BTW, I only waited about a week for my headers and y-pipe.

I've had my Jet Hot's on my car for a year and a half and the coating still looks good. I do clean the headers with metal polish about once a month also.

Weather does have an effect.
If you're driving through snow and the city salted the roads that won't be good on the headers. In Texas we only has 3 days of snow all last year , so I didn't consider weather a factor.
Sometimes it seems with the ceramic coating if it was applied right the headers will be ok for a while, but if not they will start rusting in about a year or less.
For power gains I gained 26rwhp which is the usual range for longtubes (20-30rwhp), so they're about the same as Kooks powerwise and the sound thru your gmmg won't be any different with any LT Headers.
Living near salt water I've heard can affect the coating, but I'm not sure.

The problem, I had, with the JetHot Coating was peeling and rusting on both collectors. My car sees rain and no snow. The coating should be able to withstand, something as common as, rain.

Ive had Hooker Headers with Jet Hot coating. I took them off in Feb after about 6 months of use. There was rusting beginning where the tubes aare close to together in areas hard to see and clean. I bought some Stainless Kooks headers through TTP. Great price, awesome quality!
