GMMG all the way. You'll get no rasp at all, just awesome sound.

Haha... when I read the title, I immediatly thought Flowmaster, mine had no rasp whatsoever. Sounded very clean even with headers and an ORY. I think I would go with Magnaflow then. It sounds very clean.

Every stock exhaust manifold car w/Hooker or Magnaflow I've heard rocked and had ZERO rasp. I've heard one GMMG and I thought it sounded FANTASTIC, but it did have *some* rasp around 2300 rpms. I'm sure each car is a little different.

Doesn't the rasp have something to do with the block being aluminum. I may be talking out of my *** here, but I seem to remember a discussion comparing the deep rumble of the LT1 with the higher pitch of an LS1. The consensus had something to do with the LT1's block being constructed of cast iron.
***Both cars having similar brand exhaust if I remember correctly***

You are kidding right? I heard that in person and it was one of the raspiest set-ups I have heard. Even with stock everything @ wide open it was raspy at low-mid RPMS. GMMG, Hooker, and Magnaflow have no rasp, just a clean rumble and a refined sound. Flowmaster doesnt either, but it is a piece of **** cat-back as far as performance goes.

SLP 2OTL has no rasp. I love the sound too. Might be a bit tame for some though.

The problem with these types of threads is most people will to tell you to get what THEY have, regardless of the question. Lots of bias when its comes to exhaust. Good luck...

It doesnt matter what catback you have, it you have LT headers with no cats, you will have that raspy sound...Believe me, I've tried and heard almost all of the catbacks out there. The rasp has nothing to do with the block being aluminum BTW.

Definately lots of bais when it comes to exhaust, no question about that.

I finally settled with dynomax after trial and error with different exhausts, but if you like the sound of your flowmaster, you may want to consider the Super 40 series. It is very deep, but not raspy.

Good luck.
