Default 4150 Throttle body and Vic JR. intake on 5.3??

I am running a stock bottom end 5.3 and wanted to go to a Edelbrock Victor jr. intake with a 4150 4 barrel throttle body. My questions are: Is that too much intake for a 5.3? How will it react to a nitrous plate? How is the driveablity with an intake set up like this? What kind of gains can I expect over a LS6 intake?

Also, How do Edelbrock 4150 throttle bodies perform and drive? They seem very reasonably priced.

Take a look at this thread. A Victor Jr. with a 4150 style TB would be killer on a 5.3, just like this guy did. He does not have a cam (he has stock cam) and look at the power it made. If he would throw in a custom grind cam, it would be even more ridiculous. As far as the 4150 TB goes, a lot of people like the FAST, Accel, or Scorpion 4150 TB's. The good thing about the Scorpion TB is that it's a low profile one, so clearance is much better.

Awesome! I was looking for a thread like that. I couldn't really find anything.

I don't have to really worry about clearance. This will be going in GTA. I wanted to know if the Edelbrock throttle body was good as far as daily driving and driveablity. Or if the Accufab is worth the extra money.

Can't really say, as I've not heard really anything about that TB. I'm sure it's fine, but if you look at the classified section on here, you'll likely get a good deal on a 4150 TB. One thing you'll want to do is make sure to get a custom cam for the setup. The off the shelf cams out there for LSx's are designed for a composite style intake like the LS6 and FAST intakes. Because the Victor Jr. is a single plane intake, you'll need a custom cam with the right valve events for that style intake and TB. What heads are you going to run on it?

Ok cool. I will be running 241 heads, I going to have them milled so I can bump the compression up a little bit. I was just trying to get a few reviews on the Edelbrock before I went with it.

How much is the Edelbrock TB? I know the 4150 style TB's are pretty pricey.

I would take a look at the Accel throttle body.

Way to vague in order for anyone to answer that question. Way too many variables. How about you tell us more about the combo.
