ya lol the pics may be misleading because you cant make it much taller than a 102 and still fit an fbody. I can BARELY squeeze my hand between mine and the cowl. I'm hoping they're similar so i wont have to change lol.
I just looked at the truck intake and its a monster lol. The plenum volume on that thing is just nuts so idk that this will compete with that. more so i think/ hope the hp will be on par with a car 102

The regular car FAST is ugly, too. At least the MSD unit already comes in black instead of an ugly gray.
However, at $950, I'll be sticking with my factory LS3 intake.

[QUOTE=redbird555;18514533]Cool looking forward to it. the testing was a little confusing when I watched. Do you really think it will pick up 25hp over a 102 fast? I hope i dont end up kicking myself for getting a fast unit. I was thinking they would be on par with eachother.
It is hard to say without actually having one to test yet. It would be amazing if it does and if it really does im sure it will be a high demand part. As far as the rail situation it really does not change much from going to a 102 FAST set up as the 102 FAST uses the LS2 rails on the LS1 cars in the first place unless you go to a billet rail set up. The concerns of it fitting under the cowl are real enough but is hard to speculate until they are actually out and are on the cars to see first hand.
Thanks
Derek

The overall height of the intake is about even with the rail, meaning if the injector placement is similar to stock or fast, then it will fit, and I bet it does..

If you watch that video that was posted pause it at 0:25, it's a good straight on view so you can tell how tall it is. It looks to be almost exactly even with the highest point of the fuel rails, so that should be a good way to tell if it will fit a f-body. Also for what they said about performance, it sounds like Lingenfelter made 8hp/tq over a "ported competitors" intake on a cammed LS7, and on an aggressive LS7 made 36hp/16tq over a "ported competitors" intake. The competitors intake could be a FAST 102 or Holley Hi-Ram, but I would assume it's a FAST.

ya i always take those things with a grain of salt, until i see actual people testing them because we all know how manufactures publish numbers. i cant see it being worth that much over a ported fast though the 8hp was about what i expected. 36 is a little much as the truck intake doest even pick up that and its much bigger with longer runners than both lol i take it that was a race setup ls7 how do you go from 8hp on a cammed motor to a "radical" setups with 36 lol

Seriously though, I fully expected this intake to cost more than the fast. If it makes more power than the fast & we all know how well the fast sell. So it makes sense from a buisness standpoint to mark them a little higher. Just the way it is. I'll still buy one if it makes 10+ over a ported fast.

I think is nice, now who's going to be the one to come up with dual throttle body dual isolated plenum cover to fit on the air force intake base Hah.
Wasup, hope some body else too is getting the idea.

MSD will have the critical dimensions of the manifold out soon.
These two intakes (LS and LT1) should be out late first quarter, 2015.
These were tested and dynode by Lingenfelter and were done on fairly stout engines. I asked them to publish WHAT it was dynode on so we can have a reference, and they said they would when it was released. There was a C7 out in the main entry way that had the LT1 intake on. They designed it to fit in the factory location.
They had the intake separated on a separate display and the runners are pretty straight shots into the head. Were a little beefy so they could be massaged a little for someone wanting to do their own port work.
LS is going to be around $950, LT1 will be around $1100.
