So, a F.A.S.T. intake shows gains over a stock intake of say 25HP. And this MSD intake adds 36HP over that.

Going from a stock intake to the MSD intake will see gains of 61HP!

Let's see some testing by independent shops.

Lingenfelter did all the work, but will be interesting to see what others come up with on the dyno. Yes, it was tested against a FAST intake.

FAST 25hp over an LS6 intake? Doubtful. If you look at the graph they posted, it virtually gained nothing until 6k and up. I dont find that hard to believe at all considering we all know a FAST is really not considered a top end intake. If you gain nothing from idle-6k, then 10hp by 6250, 20 by 6500, and 30 by 6750, you really are talking about gains most people wont benefit from in real world circumstances, or at least not enough to sell off their fast intakes to run an MSD.

So $950 for the LS version? I like the looks of this intake better than the FAST intakes too.

what i still dont get and no one has answered is how do you go from 8hp/8tq on an ls7 with a cam to 36hp on an "aggressive" ls7? What changes that much? Even adding heads to the equation makes me wonder. An ls7 with a cam is flowing some serious air, much more than a ls1 with a cam would be and only gaining 8/8tq I have to wonder if it would gain anything over a fast on an ls1 with mild or stock heads?

I met up with and talked to both Lingenfelter and MSD at SEMA. I let them know who I was on this board, and that I'd be willing to test their new intake and do a writeup.

I will say this, the runners were impressive with how straight of a shot they are to the intake valve. The increase plenum volume looks promising as well. It also has a reinforced underside, which was a weak spot with the other manifolds out there.

As for pricing, it's already been listed on some of the mailorder places for $9xx, but that's the MSRP, I have a feeling it'll go lower than that.

As soon as I get my hands on one, you guys will be the first to hear from me with my real world impressions. From how it fits in the car, to how well it holds boost. I'll do a writeup on the install, and anything that you would need to be aware of.
Stay tuned.

I want to see independent testing on a heads cam combo. The mojority of the market is going to be heads/cam/intake setups. I'd be willing to do back to back testing using one on my setup. LS6 intake vs this new intake; before and after dyno numbers.

That's true. If they are interested in a real world test on a heads/cam/full bolt on car, let them know I am willing. I have access to a dyno and can do back to back comparissons between a LS6 and this new intake.

Well, one of the reasons they were interested in me testing it was they haven't done boosted tests yet, just NA motors.

Looks like it will give a higher plenum volume which would be great for forced induction.

The one on the LT1 vette looks great. I wonder if they are built like the FAST where they have a separate top shell and base? If so, those running aftermarket fuel rails could posaibly use the LT1 top shell.

What "aftermarket" is that though?

One of the woeful performing ported LS7's or the stock Fast 102 LS7 intake?

That's what I want to know!

Maybe some of the sponsors on here will weigh in. I'm sure they've been given a projected ship date for their supplies, which hopefully they can sell for less than the "sticker" price.
