I'm on the rig for a few days yet. When I get home and have a minute I will.

I've got an Escalade that needs new motor and trans mounts, a seat heater control board fix, oil change, and new brakes.

Yay me

I've got a Camaro that needs to be finished and a truck that will do everything but start about ready to set the truck in fire. Anyway, I was under the impression the difference between the ls1 and ls6 intakes was just the actual volume, not the TB opening. And I thought they were like 75 mm. Maybe 76? Idk.

Only place i could get 76mm was at the very edge of the opening, down
the throat it was hard to find 76mm

Sorry, I am not a photographer. these pictures show how much you would
have to bore to get 78mm, looks like you might could get 79mm if you did all
the work op did. And Im sure all of the intakes are a little different.
And this is a true ls6 manifold.

Thanks for the pics! I'm going to buy some calipers while I'm at the store for the sanding rolls. Anxious to see how it compares to what you posted. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll have measurement pics up.

ordered through a salvage yard that gets dorman aftermarket parts, it was drop shipped from Dorman to them, return address was a dorman warehouse in TN. came on fedex, i was there for the box opening.
If you order from a place that has stock on hand, i bet it gets double boxed. but they said dorman ships every thing lately in the items box, they get broken head lights all the time and hate the delay it causes.

question from a lurker.

for those how have installed this intake, do the coolant lines fit (looks like they might from the shots I've seen of the bottom) or do they need to be plugged?

Assuming you still have an ls1 intake currently, you'll have to switch. Ls1 lines run under whereas the ls6 lines go over. Being an ls6 replacement, this intake is notched over the top to fit it. You can buy the crossover line to fit the ls6 and this from one of the vendors on here.

Im about to get one and looking for more information. I was wondering too if sawblade99Z have some bigger throttlebody than stock, when it needs to be ported?

However, there's about a 100% chance I'll pick it up tomorrow, find something I'm not satisfied with, and then spend a little more time straightening the throat.

Its a crappy picture, but I measured to show it opened up to 78 mm. Bear in mind that the throat originally had a lip the same thickness as all the others you see there. Ignore the shitty part at the gap on the top right. I was watching Vikings at the same time and lost track of how long I had been in the same spot lol it's ugly and uneven, although the pic makes it look worse than it is. Shouldn't hurt actual performance I wouldn't think.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Great post, thank you! I am currently trying to find a fix for the same thing...

I have a stock throttle body at the moment, but I will have a ported stocker to go with this when it gets installed. They are 78 mm so I opened up the inlet to match.
