We have sold a few with billet rails and a few diff 92mm tbs. mostly the holley sniper (with new iac) and the nick williams. We try to keep 5 on hand at all times. The sniper tb is on back order so we offer a few diff options. We sell whole kits ready to go with holley adj tb bracket for $689 shipped or pieced out also. We have it complete for the swap guys that dont have any orig parts. But we can sell without bracket for $660. And it goes down from there. We will also be offering ported options as well!

For more info email me as we dont have it completely listed yet.

Do you also handle the Dorman LS6? If so, does it sell well? What are your thoughts on it? (Sorry for the one-post hijack!)

We do have them. They are not AS popular based of recent findings, but good for those price gougers online wanting 450 for a bare intake lol. As the ls swap world grows both of these intakes will keep growing in volume. It is a good intake just needs a little attention out of the box like the ls2 and truck intake does. Then they are great.

The emissions guys in cali etc should really like em due to keeping the egr and not modifying a huge amount.

Are you referring to the new revision released with the larger 90mm throttle body opening? I only see a couple reports which seem positive, every other search I find seems to talk about the first round with the smaller opening.

Dorman has both intakes. Both the 3 bolt ls6 style and the 4 bolt ls2 style.
There have been a few "minor" revisions in each style but both are pretty good now imo.

I mean the ls6 isnt as popular recently as the ls2 because of recent flow charts floatin around and a few dyno results.

I was thinking with the popularity of the 5.3, the LS6 Dorman would be great for those needing a lower profile manifold than the truck manifold. If it was decent for the LS6, it should have flow capacity to spare for a nicely warmed-over 5.3

So has anyone done any back to back dyno testing of this intake? It would be worthwhile to see if it makes more power with a 92mm throttle body vs a ls6 with a stock throttle body.

Thanks for the install thread , you were the first to mention the hvac port.

Anyone used the ls2 dorman intake on a boosted set up? I remember seeing the ls6 dorman intakes blow apart, which kept me away from them previously.

For everyone's curiosity we will be pressuring up one of these manifolds soon. Off the vehicle. Ports closed off with a pressure gauge on it. Im guessing 20lbs should suffice?

I think as a courtesy to the customers that buy our intake combo, we will be pressure testing each of them. That way its not a "luck of the draw" kind of issue. If there are any issues we will address them. That way we dont have to worry about shipping back and forth etc.

Ill have more info when we get everything together!

I have a Dorman LS2 intake but is not installed on either of my cars. I'd planned to put it and fest but scored an ERL 416 and went down another path. The shop that built my 91 RS with the TPIS 90mm snout ported LS6 offered to swap on the Dorman LS2 and dyno test it. We also tested several other intakes on my 91RS. However, the RS runs very well and has perfectly stock driveability so I'm not willing to tinker with the set up now that the car is together and right after a ten month restoration.

I explained what to do in my write up for the map sensor hole on this intake. The hole is the same size as the factory egr hole but slightly deeper. I had to use a rubber expansion plug to fill it. I show my car alot and would love to find a better looking alternative.

Im not sure that will work. I had a similar block off from ict billet and it worked perfect for the ls1 intake. However I found the ls2 intale to have a deeper hole. So it actually wouldnt seal and had a terrible vacuum leak. Id gladly buy your block off if i knew for a fact it worked.

The alternative is to use an actual freeze plug and drive it into the intake. Quite a few do this on ls1 and truck intakes. Then paint it or fill it with epoxy etc.

would you remove the white one from a LS6D 615-900 , shoot a pic and compare dimensions with your billet plug.
