This is exactly right.

I just posted it because someone sent it to me. If the guy is lying, then he has to live with that I guess. Although like I said, I don’t know why he would be lying but ok. And I still feel like I made a good purchase for the price. It could be the placebo effect, but it’s odd that my fuel trims were within 2% of Zero correction before the intake and then ended up being around 10% correction. But yea I can’t prove anything otherwise because I didn’t dyno the car. I feel good about my choice tho. Eventually I’ll get a lsxr but right now I don’t have the funds. I may even go with a sheet metal intake. Who knows.

What's this guy going to do next , a factory stock cylinder head test and tell us that 862 heads make more power than 243s will .
Just wondering. What’s your reason for posting this? Did you Dyno both intakes and come up with a different outcome? If so, can you post the Dyno videos or Dyno sheets?

He means he also did a dyno showing 706 heads made more than 243/241/317 heads on a 5.3l with a cam. Its another dyno he did. And doing so hurt alot of feelings but didnt tell a true story really. As well as posting up some flow results of the heads showing the 706 trumping quite a few even with the smaller intake valve. That and a few other tests have made quite a few people question behind the scenes action. It is debatable to say th least.

On a small bore 5.3, the larger valves are probably shrouded. You'd think the larger volume of the 243 would suck more air in though. Still 2 hp difference between stock heads isn't enough to get worked up over. Do the same test on a 6.0 and I think the 243 head would win by at least 2 hp.

With the 6.0s bringing a premium a week before Race Wars, everyone does 4.8s and 5.3s especially thanks to viral turbo videos and the "they are so cheap ill blow it up and buy another one" mentality.
If you look at the flow sheets they did, youll definitely scratch your head though.

Trust me, no one would love this comparo more than us, but i dont think it will be such a good performer out of the box that this test showed...BUT that also depends on the revision.
I am fully confident in the DLST manifold though.

Anyone go ahead and buy one and want to loan it for a Gen 3 truck vs Dorman LS2 engine dyno test on a LOT of boost?

I think it's time for some more comparison testing.

Long time lurker.
I have a TBSS intake installed on my GTO. (Full write up is on LS1GTO).
If you want a true comparison, someone send me a dorman LS2 intake and $200 for a retune at Complete Street Performance and I'll get it done.

They will come apart under boost. The sonic welds are not very strong. N/A only.

Been sitting on my Dorman LS2 for about 3 months now. Have a 1999 TA with LS1 intake. Will be installing the LS2 Dorman intake this weekend. Should have a dyno test by next week. Pulled 342hp on dyno with Speed Engineering true duels and headers, also had a ported throttle body and a tune. Hopefully this intake will get me between 360 to 370 hp. It is also an A4.

I'll be interested in your results, I've been sitting on a Dorman LS2 for a while too.
