Default Question about SLP intakes...

I have a 1998 WS6, completely stock.
I just got the car and wanted to start getting small HP gains.
I keep hearing that SLP is overpriced & does not give the claimed HP gains.
Can anyone clear this up for me? Perhaps a link to the kit?
TIA

EDIT: Sorry if i posted this in the wrong section... New here.

Are you talking about a lid? If so they are pretty much a univeral mod around here. SLP's lid is about the closest to OEM from a material standpoint. All lids perform closely enough for any to be a reasonable choice.

Yes, i meant to say a lid lol.
These guys claim to give you 20 HP OVERSTOCK? (sounds ridiculous)

A lid is a lid. I have the Slp one and it does its job. You can expect a gain of about 5rwhp for around $100.

Even though 5 doesn't seem like much I noticed a snappier throttle response. That in itself made the mod worth it. Ant it looks cooler lol

Would the FlowPac Cold Air Intake Package be the same thing? It's made/sold my SLP & it is $300+

Could you check the link I posted above? It's a cold air intake but has the lid with it, it's a kit just not too sure if it's the same thing. Did you notice any sound difference whatsoever?

IMO the SLP flow pack is the least functional out of all the ram air kits. Here's howd I'd rate them.
1. Chrs1313 ram air
2. SSRA (super sucker ram air)
3. FTRA (Fast toys ram air)
4. SLP flow pack kit
5. K&N FIPK

As far as sound my CHRS1313 is LOUD. You can hear that thing suck like crazy lol. Hope this helps bud

No. Just get the lid and save the extra money. Its actually one of the very few decent products made by Slp.

I'd do a lid and the FTRA or the SLP flowpac. I had a SSRA and loved it. It's my favorite mod to date but its plastic and since the nose of our cars scrape on everything I broke two and never replaced my last.

Speed incs. CHRS1313 is aluminum and also bigger than any of the ram air kits. Just my .02

You have a Ws6 like me. Check out the Jaam Ram Air kit. Its made specifically to work with your hood. When I installed it on my car I felt a huge seat of the pants difference on the highway. Much more response and top end pull. I already had the lid and filter and just added this kit. Full kit including the bottom plate which you should definitely get is $210. Check it out:
