Default Inquiring exhaust change

I now have SLP LM...im kind of sick of the high RPM screaming rasp and im kind of sick of how when the car is idling and your really close to it...it kinda sounds like a truck...

im looking into GMMG or replaceing the resonator with a muffler....like the Dynomouth or Borlamouth system

im assuming many will say GMMG is the best one....i have the SLP Large Diameter Y-pipe whihc is 2 1/2 inch pipe...and GMMG is 2 1/2 inches also...will they match up correctly without welding being needed?

how much quieter is gmmg then SLP?

if i get GMMG im going with a cutout on the I-pipe

gmmg includes a 3" i-pipe. It is a different deeper sound than that piece of crap on there now. Also, put a borla in place of the lm resonator(another ******* joke...a hollow tube) and the sound should please you. It is much less expensive to do that way, and then see it if you still have a woody for a gmmg, which is a awsome system. racrx

I had the TSP Rumbler.. which is just a dynomouth. From my experience, the dynomax bullet just isn't an option.

I can't see myself spending the money that they want for the GMMG.

So that leaves the Borla XR-1. I'm biased towards these mufflers even though the one for your application is different from my setup. Borla all the way..

Good luck..

the GMMG is a great catback, but a bit pricey. if money is no object go with that, if not just get true duals

It isnt much quieter. It will sound that way because GMMG doesnt have the drone LM does in the interior. It is quieter, but it makes up for it because of the DEEP bad-*** sound it makes.

is it safe to put a cutout on the GMMG I-pipe.....?

what are the chances that the cutout could have a like leak or something that will prevent all the air to go through the full catback system even when the cutout is closed?

If its welded and closed good none. But if its not welded good or electric cutout I dont know, gut a screw on flanged cap cutout can be sealed very tight.

There's no way I would spend that kind of money on the GMMG - especially since you'll get zero performance gain over a LM. I've heard a handful of them from outside the car and to my untrained ear it sounds very similar to the LM. If I were you I'd consider these 3 options:
1) pay a few bucks and have a good muffler installed to replace your resonator
2) get yourself a cheap, good-sounding catback and add a cutout
3) get yourself some duals built

True Duals... You'll never regret it, and you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner..
