Default Lsxrt install problems

Hey guys , I just got my Fast lsxrt ported from Tony Mano. I'm running into a problem . It seems like the intake is to wide . I kind of have to put pressure so it snaps on the ridge of the head . I can get it to snap in but with pressure. My question is should I grind down the sides so it fits in smoothly or this is normal and it would fall in place once I torque it down. Here is a picture of the area I'm talking about.

I would want it to lay down easy, if you have to press it, theres a chance it could leak.
Grinding that little area won't hurt a thing.

That ledge goes across the whole head , I would have to grind across the whole intake .. Man I spend 1660 for this intake and this is the last thing I wanted to do .. but also the last thing I want is an intake leak..
I also notice that is advertised for cathedral heads but it doesn't really match a cathedral design.. I'm guessing is universal?

My 102 was like that. Just torqued it down and made sure it slipped past that ridge.

On the bottom of my 102 there were brass dowels (little circle things) that stick out at each bolt hole. Grab some pliers and remove them, they get hung up on the little holes in the head where they sit.

You where 100 % right , I took the dowels off and it went right in . Now that it's in I notice that it has a gap in the lower side . This is with out the gasket . Would this get fixed once it's torqued down with the gasket ?
FYI the head washer is not in the way it just looks like that in the picture

Mine was also a pain to get down flush. Took a bunch of passes with the torque wrench to get it snug and flat.

This! I ended up making six passes before the bolts all stayed snug. Be patient. Take your time. Be gentle. It'll be good

When you guys say multiple passes , you mean at the final torque 89 in lbs you guys just keep torquing it down multiple times with the same in lbs ??? Or you mean that instead of doing two passes first at 45 in/lbs and second at 89 in/lbs you guys did like 20 , 40, 60,80 etc..

No, it's more like this:

I torque everything to 45. Then, the center bolt isn't even hand tight anymore, so I retorque it to 45, which then loosens up the neighboring bolts. I keep going around the manifold until they're all actually holding 45 - definitely until none are no longer hand tight when going back around. That part took me four passes. Then I do 89, which took me two additional passes.

This is almost my same exact experience.

Hey guys the instructions say to torque the two shells together at 70-89 lbs ... I went to 70 but I'm scare of going further . I don't want to crack them . I'm using a good torque wrench but I'm scare I'm not getting and accurate reading since I have to use a long extension for this bolts ... how did you guys torque this ? Did you go to 89 in lbs ? The front two bolts one I got to 89 in lbs and the other one in the front felt tight and All of the sudden it felt like it got a bit loose and it did another full turn .. I didn't even waited for a click of the wrench because I'm not sure it I'm over torquing it .

89 inch pounds is very light. You may be missing the wrench breaking over bc they dont always "click"
